Im not sure i believe this, but it has occurred to me that New Orleans has hostorically been a place of decadence and some might say "sin". Also an area where the history of voodoo and witch craft runs deep.
Im not saying that i necesarilly believe this, nor do i believe that God is attempting to "cleanse" the area...but it was just something that occurred to me. Wondering your thoughts? I just searched this topic and realized it was a dupe, should have searched before i posted.

It's not God's punishment. It is a result of the sin that takes place. Curses are a natural part of physics just as gravity is. God warned people of this, so people naturally think its his punishment. The punishments we deserve from God are yet to come. The tsunami and the haulocost will pale in comparrison. Those who refuse to believe, well then I won't be the one who has to worry bout that.
