OK I have a 95 Lumina that is dead, it cracked a head and droped a valve, so it would cost me more to fix it than to keep it.

So now I have a car sitting in front of my house to get rid of, here are my ideas to get rid of it.

1. Donate it to the local rescue squad or FD for use as Vehicle Extrication practice. This is an OK idea. I don't get too much out of it.

2. See if I can barter with oour local range that has an IPSC club. Maybey they would barter a years membership for a prop car for stages. I would like a free range membership, though I don't know if they would go for it.

3. See if I can barter with the local shooting school TAC2 a prop car for a free class. There again I don't know if they would go for it.

4. Donate it to the kidney foundation. A good cause.

5. Attempt to sell it.

What should I do?

Another option I always wanted to do, but so far my trucks haven't gotten to this point yet, is if it's still driveable, even in limp mode, park it in a now parking zone and have the police or a towing company tow it off. Poof! Car B Gone!

Dude, you're in Tennessee. Just park it in the front yard and throw a blue tarp over it.

Really, a cracked head and a dropped valve isn't so bad.

I would opt for the trade for range fees at one of the ranges.

Call a local technical school or trade school. If they have an auto mechanics class, they would be glad to take it off your hands. Personally a donation to a worthy cause is a more class act IMHO.

Donate it to the Oct. Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot and watch it get the heck shot out of it.

KCR is about 30 miles south of Louisville, KY, shouldn't be hard to tow it there.

You never know when those same guys may have to cut you or a loved one out.

If you donate it, get a receipt from whoever recieves the vehicle. Make sure the reciept has monetary value included. That way you can right it off on taxes this year.

Get a reciept and deduct it from your taxes. This is probably the easiest solution.

Why? You are still responsible for the tow and storage fees, and if they CAN'T find you, the tow company is stuck with a car they'll never recoup their expenses on if they DO manage to have the title transferred to them eventually.

I've got one that doesn't run either and I need to get rid of it. I'd check out the FD or the charity. Get a receipt.
