Just curious as to the education level of the folks here. FWIW I'm considering a higher degree.

Not me, Id fail regardless, why try, they perfer to take minorites and sports players anyway.
Why waste time and money to work the same shitjob I got now. |
Yeah, but I don't remember much of it except that girl Katie....
I'm in the middle of college and will be applying to med school.
I know many people who dropped out of HS making more then me, I wasted my time there too I quess
Twice. (Double?)
Does that means with the diplomas and $2.00 I can get Two cups of coffee at 7-11? |
My college degree basically doubles my income and halves my work.

Taxman Team Member Bronze Contributor Motivational Speaker I think you wasted you money in motivational speaker school. I dropped out of high school, got my GED, went to a vocational school, and now have my Associate Degree. I'm considering Bachelor's or Master's now. Bacherlor's would mean next to nothing in terms of money/job. Honestly, no real advantage over Associate for my field. Master's, OTOH, would mean a substantial increase in pay and I would go much higher on the ladder. I just don't know how dedicated I am to finishing. It *cough* took me 7 years total to finish my Associate's... I stalled and stalled.... |

Engineers at my company are making $60k right out of college. Add an MBA to that and the sky is the limit.
47 one thousandth's of a QPA point from a B.S. - working on that right now.
I have a BS degree and thats what it is BS, I work as an aircraft mechanic for FedEx and I make around 85K a year, I did not need the degree to work this job.
I have a high school diploma but I bet I make a lot more than most 23 year olds. I hate school but I will probably end up getting a degree just so I have the paperwork that says I know what I'm doing. I work in IT so a degree will just increase my pay and I'm former military so I have a GI bill to use. No sense in wasting it so I will be getting a degree.

MBA and a Bachelors in Biology
Edited because I can't tell the difference btwn "in" and "and" |
I've got 210 college credits but no degree, so "High School/GED" is the only thing I could honestly answer. That seems kinda screwy to me. But that's also how society works, which is also screwy, in my opinion.

Yes, and I am better than you because of it
In reality, I went to college and finished because it was expected of me. I had no idea what I wanted to do with a college degree and still dont. Went to a school with a program I loved for its own sake, but couldn't afford it so I settled at a public university with a BA in economics which is basically worthless. I'm pretty bad off because of my pursuit of a college education, and I can't see how the situation will change in the short run. |

MS in CS. Cost me 6 months and 10K to get my MS, but it earned me $10K/more in starting salary. Best decision I've made. |
Graduating next Spring. I'm very seriously considering getting a masters or perhaps a doctorate.
A college degree is like anything else, it can help out if you get the right one and make it work for you.
I'm working on my masters now, it will mean about $300 more a month... that is not nearly as important as the pride I will have from finishing it. |
I've got a couple of Tech School certificates, and a couple of years towards my BS.
How does that work? You should have a degree of some sort, somehow, even if by accident, with 210 credits. |
Whatever you do, apply to as many schools as possible. I can't emphasize this enough. The very bare minimum should be 25, and only if you are an exceptional candidate. |
Now in my senior year of college. Going to be a long senior year, a lot of classes to catch up on, thanks to switching majors.
Hopefully will be teaching after I get my degree. |
2 Bachelors and a Masters and it turned out I hated the work in all of them after a bit. Starting on an Associates if I get in now.
My wife gets angry with me because I think college is a waste of time for me. I don’t think it is a waste of time for everyone but just for me. I have 4 years of experience doing IT stuff in the military and I know way more than most 4 year college grads with a bachelor in IT. The only reason I'm going to get a degree is because I have my GI bill which is basically use or lose and the fact that I will probably get paid a bit more because I have a piece of paper from a university. I learn way better by experience than I will sitting in some boring college class.
I want to know what you do for a living! |
BS in Mechanical Engineering. Interesting field if you like machines and how they work.
I've considered going back for an MS for several years now but I can't get motivated. The advantages in pay and/or job opportunities don't justify it, IMO. Experience is usually the trump card in engineering, once you have the BS. |
MS in Zoology. I wouldn't have my current job without it. The money's not the greatest but the tangible benefits make up for it. Who else gets the fun of chasing wild things (no, not women) all year long?
wait this poll cant be right! arnt all gun owners toothless uneducated drunk rednecks?
B.S. in Ag. Business, working on a M.S. in Agronomy.
The Masters will get me another $5000 per year. |
BS in nursing. MS in nurse anesthesia. 6 figure salary and 8 weeks of vacation a year starting out.
Did you get your BS at UAM? |
Dropped out of high school, got the GED, went to trade school for five years at night while I worked. I am much smarter than most college graduates, I just didn't make smart choices when I was 16. I'm not trying to toot my own horn, it's just that I know a lot of very stupid college grads and most that I come across are retards.

I have to confess, Katie was this gorgeous tall blonde that my roomate and I only salivated about for four years. It's not like she would actually talk to us or anything The things we did to try to meet her would make a hilarious sitcom. Remember that movie "Pretty in Pink"? The little red-headed kid? That, in a nutshell, was the adolescent Rodent |

BS in Technology (Aviation Studies) from Bowling Green St Univ, OH.
I miss college. Talk about some really good times. |
Masters of Business Administration in Biology? Huh? Working on my Ph.D in geography. It will almost certainly turn out to be totally useless in every way. But at least I'll be in debt for the rest of my life . |

High school.
Working on a B.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Bio-ethics. |
I'm in IT consultant. There's still good money to be made if you know how to read a manual and have the balls to take a few risks. Experience is helpful too. |

I am working on my 4year degree in Criminal Justice. This next semester will be my 3rd.

Damn man, if you did even halfway decent in your english lit or writing 101 classes you should get down to the english department and talk to them about a waiver. I did that when I screwed up and took the 'wrong' lit course, the prof looked through my english/lit grades (A's and B's nothing spectacular though) and wrote the waiver pretty quickly. Either that or just cowboy up and take the damned class. |
