Probe gets Rolling

The death of Rolling Stone Brian Jones will be reinvestigated by police following new evidence suggesting the musician was murdered over a $14,000 debt.

Former girlfriend Pat Andrews has persuaded police to exhume the guitarist's body, following the release of a 150-page dossier detailing his drowning at his home, Cotchford Farm, July 3, 1969, when he was 27. Investigators recently combed the estate for evidence.

And a new movie, "The Wild and Wicked World of Brian Jones," supports the dossier's claims that now-deceased builder Frank Thorogood drowned Jones during an argument.

"Disturbing new evidence has emerged which merits a full new police investigation," Andrews told Britain's Sunday Express.

"Wild and Wicked" director Stephen Woolley adds, "It is quite a complicated story. It's not like Thorogood just got up one morning and decided to murder Brian Jones. It is the route that it took to get there."
