While sitting here surfing ARFCOM, I just heard 12 rounds, pistol caliber probably, fired about 50 yards away from me. Damn morons drive across a bridge (38th street crossing the white river) and shoot off into the distance. My apartment faces the bridge

I would guess that the pistol that was used is probably stolen, or illegal in some way.

I think that would be an appropriate response. Maybe wire up some claymores, and have em ready to squeeze off for the next time. I don't usually have to worry about it unless it is New Years eve , devils night, or July 4th. Never can tell!
