what version of windows ? if xp start... programs .... system tools ....system restore go to a restore point before you loaded the up date should return to before you had problems

If you were using Outlook Express for your e-mail to to tools/internet options/programs/ and change it back to Outlook Express. It will show something different if it changed it to Microsoft Office.
