Nothing. Its closed.

If I were in the gov and wanted to cover up secret military testing. I would get the loonie UFO folks to see some stuff  "by accident" . I would do my best to make sure the UFO croud screams the loudest at it being a UFO thing and not what is really going ont.

They're using it to distract people like you from where the real weapon development is being done.

The best guess is that it was used for testing experiment aircraft, but since there is so much attention focussed on it, much of that activity has been moved elsewhere.

considering how much land the Feds bought up surrounding the base, thats a very real possibility.

No better way of attracting attention than putting up a big sign saying "Don't look at me!"

That's where the government has a mind-control operation set up.

By using mind-control waves, they're masking the presence of aliens and making them appear human.

If you wear enough aluminum or tin foil on your head, or perhaps a stainless steel colander, you can block enough of the mind-control waves to be able to see the alien's aura that surrounds their "human" bodies.

Testing of experimental aircraft. It's out in the middle of a dry lake, this gives you three things

1)Hard for people to look at your stuff
2)When something goes wrong your neat secret jet doesn't crash and wipe out Granny Weatherwax's house, thus causing a battery of lawsuits.
3)Dry lakes make nice huge runways for when other things go wrong.

As far as I heard, the Area 51 site is all but dead and those "operations" have mostly been moved to another area.   They did a lot of prototype testing there, especially aircraft.  I think that is where the SR-71 Blackbird was first let out to fly back in the early 60's when nobody knew about it.   You know, those UFO things.

Area51 is real, although I'm not positive if that name is actually used
also refered to as Groom Lake
the SR71, F117, B2 were all tested there
one of those satelite image websites where you put in an address or coordinates used to have it, now they don't which makes me think the gov't told them to get rid of the pics

Not sure what the military calls it, but it's not Area 51.  I believe the label "Area 51" came from maps of the countryside at the time.  That's just what the chunk of land the base is sitting on was called by surveyors, probably in the mid-late 1800s.

Old Lockheed base for development of new aircraft. As for flying anti-gravity disc's, if they did exsit, they sure as hell are not kept there anymore.

produced the SR-71 Blackbird, stealth fighter, and stealth bomber

The business I work for does occasional computer training (productivity apps like word) for them. They have their own name for that AF base that we use. I'm gonna take a guess and assume its just an alias and not an official name or anything.

That aside, some of the hometown members have gone on little sight seeing trips near there and told of how tight security actually is. For one, there are sensors (sound and probably some video/IR) embedded in the ground and possibly fake vegitation. All the members that have gone out to the edge of the off limits area have been met fairly quickly by security up there. Looked like the security just stayed back a distance and made their presance known.

Anything cool going on up there? No clue. Why test anything super secret outdoors? Any country wanting to spy could do it with a satellite and get a decent idea of what your doing. At night maybe, but still I'd think such a high profile "secret base" would be more catered to indoor expirments and new technology. I would think indoors is where alot of the newer military technology is being tested and evaluated. Probably not aliens or any truley sci fi shit... Just new radar, stealth, or other new tech.

Area 51 has moved. It's in Utah now.

Can you say, "Eagle Range"?

Much of the above, especially the potential problems when new aircraft area being tested.  If some piece of pipe springs a leak and an engine fails, do you really want an experimental/new/secret aircraft to crash on a freeway complete with live video taken from  news helicopter?

Another thing they used to do there was test captured/stolen/brought-in-for-reward foreign aircraft against our own.  This includes dogfights to compare capabilities and  training of new pilots, realistically fighting enemy aircraft.  Yes, they had a "Red Air Force" there at one time.  Not something for the evening news.

Not giving anything away here, it's all been published before, just a reminder.  Look at the entrance to Nellis AFB, tells the story.

What secret base?

There's no base there.

Who told you there's a base there?  Whatever you heard, forget it.

I'll believe it's closed when you post pics of yourself flying over it, at low altitude, and NOT being shot down.
