Yes, a properly configured AP can be just as secure as it's wired counter part. Also I wouldn't be to worried about the neighbor kid hacking my wireless connection. |

Call me a troll whatever I don’t care. I’m just trying to help my ARFCOM brother out. Give some teenagers an open source program and a 50 dollar antenna and see what happens. The only secure computer is a computer that is turned off.

Not callin you a troll at all, just having some fun. While an out-of-the-box AP *is* inherently insecure, a little WEP and MAC whitelisting and you're good to go from 99% of unauthorized access. Hackers and kids are looking for easy targets, the low-hanging fruit.. they're not going to expend all the effort to crack a residential AP whitelist. |
