June 14, 2005 - The Tactical Operations Support (TOS) subgroup of TSWG has awarded a contract off Broad Agency Announcement 04-Q-4198 related to the development of a detachable High Performance In-Line Sniper Scope (HISS) for use with a wide variety of military sniper weapons. FLIR Systems, Inc of North Billerica, Massachusetts will develop a removable modular sniper scope which can provide full operational capability in all light levels. The system work in-line with the day sniper scope, serving as its eyepiece. Additionally, HISS will detachment and reattachment to the sniper weapon without loosing “bore sight” of the day scope. This system will improve significantly operator performance and tactical flexibility.

FLIR Systems, Inc will receive $1,172,835.00 for this 18 month effort.
