damn, they must be hurting for bodies. didn't their criteria use to be sf, seal, recon, etc?
Dimes to doghnuts you'd qualify. Everything's wavierable I'd bet. |
??? I thought the contractor guys were making some mad cash over there... Unless you're loaded! Party at f4yr's house! |
I don't belive so. I belive it has been the same. And I don't think they are hurting to much, I am sure they simply have more work. |
I belive about $120k if I am not mistaken. If you go over for 8 months that is only about $20 an hour for gambling with your life. |

I let my brother know, he's going to go for it, he qualifies 4 year marines, demo expert, counter terror..... wish I could go

Better hurry |

Like I said, doesn't pay enough. |
That was two weeks ago. ETA: I can't believe nobody had spotted that when I replied and in the 4 seconds it took to point it out 3 other people noticed and beat me to it. |
So how much does Blackwater want you to shell out for this academy of theirs?
Damn. Talk about TEMPTING!
Reckon I'd need to lose about 30 pounds first, but to be taught and then work with the guys who make up that bunch? Damn! And $120K is a good 33% more than I make now, and it's mostly, if not all, tax-free (overseas work). |
Who knows? Probably a bunch! ETA: Here's the link to the academy, but I haven't found any price: Link |
About $120k. |
24.9 or less on the National Institute of Health body mass index test. sorta crappy, since I was higher than that when I graduated basic training. all it does is ask your height and weight. the test was designed around somalians or something. |
Your Math-Fu is weak young grasshopper. |
Just for giggles, I sent them an e-mail asking just that. |
$20.83 per hour. |
Well at 100 hours a week for eight months or 32 weeks $20 and hour is $64,000. Most of the contractor work I am hearing about is running well over a $100k. A buddy of mine down in MS told me that a company he has worked construction with in the past is sending crews over there right now. Every approved member is making over 100k and will be there for I think he told me 300days. There is a mark were the money you make for that year is tax free and they stay one more day than that day. If you have the right mindset 8wks would do you well enough get by if you keep your 6 covered.

Please post. I would assume so many push ups in a minute, run a mile etc. |
Is it? Your not talking about a 8 hour 5 day a week job, your talking about 24/7 your always at risk. Your always on the job until your back on american soil. |
Will do. I'm seriously curious about it as just a personal goal. |
I found out I know a guy who is an instructor for these guys. I haven't talked to him since I heard that, though. He just disappeared for a while and no one knew exactly what he was up to.
They have all that info on the site. |

PT REQUIREMENTS:
$20 X 24(hours per day) = $480 day. 8 months = .666 (two thirds) of a year. 365 days X .666 = 243.3 days 243.3days X $480day = $116,788.32/year. This assumes an 8 month year. Most calendars I have ever seen is a 12 month year. |
Woops! |
PT test is easy enough. experiance is the thing that gets you that job.
The police academy was harder than the above. |
8 months = 240 days (30 days per month) 240 days = 5760 hours $120K/5760 = $20.83/hour So, now thet we've redifined elementary arithmetic, who's going to apply? |
Return e-mail: Dear sir, Never mind, you're not who we're looking for. Love, The crew at Blackwater. |
Based on a 12 month year: $120k year divided by 365 days = $328.77 per day. $328.77 / 24hours per day = $13.70 per hour. |

I don't know why you think its tax-free, and you are in danger 24-7 not 8 hours a day, keep that in mind. But if your a soldier or marine getting off your tour, it sounds like a hell of a deal. |
I was thinking the same thing! Hey, Blackwater! I can do arithmetic, too! |
It's tax free after a point of X many continuous days OCONUS. |
+1 Wouldn't make me walk away from a 63K job at home, but as a soldier who's already been doing it 24/7 for far less, I'd be all over it. |
Pretty much rules out any online commando thats for sure.
Maybe a job in the accounting department? |
My issue would be the run. I have not ran in years. No better time than now to start, again. |
that BMI deal is a load of crap, according to the website with it, I didnt even pass when I graduated basic training, and I was one skinny SOB.
