Found my Commodore 64 with the tape drive, disc drive and a bunch of games. It still works, now to load up Ultima 3 and 4.

I *FINALLY* got rid of mine. Went to the recyclers along with 550 POUNDS of other dead/obsolete PC's, printers, CRT, cards, drives, etc, etc, etc...

I've long since gotten rid of the commodore 64 and the dual disk drive, but I still have Ultima 1 -4. Those are the games that got me addicted to computers.

Sort of - although I never had a "real" C-64, I did and still do have the portable version:

I still have my Commodore 64 monitors. I have one hooked up to each DVR, I use them like PIP. These damn monitors last forever. They've been on roughly 6 to 8 hours a day for the last 6(ish) years. Not too bad for 20 year old monitors.

I remember when I was about 12 or 13 me and my dad went and picked up a C64, I got a blue max flying game, and my mom couldnt figure out why my dad would buy such a thing, what will that ever be good for....... fond memories of a 38 year old

Yes I have two and am using one now with my 300 Baud modem. It has taken me 2 days just to load this page
Actually they sit in a box somewhere with the modem, dot matrix printer, cassette, and 5 1/2 drive. Anyone still have the original 'PONG' game? |

Wow that is going back. My first 'PC' was a Sinclair ZX-81, I still had all the copies of their magazine till last year when my parents cleaned out their attic. $150 and came with a whopping 1K of RAM. |

 My dad brought that home while I was in grade school. I learned to program in BASIC on it. He wrote a program to manage his stock trading side business. If you wanted to access the 60K floppy drive, you had to type in instructions opening ports, loading files, etc. There wasn't much software for it. A lame space invaders was all it could do. There was a pretty cool flight sim, but it was all text. You'd put in your control change, it would give you a new position, attitude, etc., as a result in numbers. |

I still have mine tucked away in some garage somewhere. I remember ZORK, that was a cool game. talk about letting your imagination free. Test drive was pretty cool.
Actually some SlOT Car tracks still use them for their timing controls.
