A Web site that was set up to take "charitable" donations to the anti-gun bradycampaign.org was apparently taken down by its owners shortly after it appeared on the Web, featuring a Shockwave video that depicted Charlton Heston as a skyjacker.

The link was distributed among numerous pro-gun discussions. Theories as to its demise include possible threats of libel suits, and some pro-RKBA activists hitting bradycampaign.org's donation collection pages with $.01 transactions (which result in a negative cash flow).

I'm on the site right now donating $0.01. I'll bankrupt them yet.....Looking for the movie....It wouldn't let me on from here-they must be blocking jumps from gun sites LOL

I really like the fact that you cannot contact this organization UNLESS yo umake a donation!!A real up and up organization. To bad James had to get shot, but that's the risk you take as a political figure.
I wonder why no one has tried t ooff Strom? Could it be that he is pro gun had might carry(even at his age)?

I've tried to access the Charlton Heston movie per above link from several places using "clean" browsers (i.e. no gun-related site as referrer) from various IP addresses, and I'm pretty sure that page shut down completely.

The Shockwave movie chained into a shopping cart site run by www.charityweb.net.

They charge over $1K for setup, $25 per month, $.39 per credit card deposit [rolleyes], and their customers have to maintain their own checking accounts.

I somehow got the video to work. Clicked on it and got the "Not Authorized" page, deleted all but the main URL, browsed the main site, and when I hit my back button, that piece of shit was playing.

I get paid to run Microsoft IIS.

Their Web administrator appears to have done a quick fix by changing security on that one directory (or virtual directory) from Allow all IP addresses by default to Deny all by default.

That's one of dozens of ways to do it, and not what I would have done.

i got it to work last night basicly they were on a plane then it says some crap about amercia being awash with guns then a guy takes of his jacket has a NRA shrt on looks kidna like heston then he pulls out 2 guns holds the plane hostage the passangers tip the plkane he falls out then iut says join the blah blah

I think a lot of good pro-RKBA folks on the 'Net smashed bradycampaign's genitalia today, and the DoJ's announcement must have added insult to injury.

It's all about money. Libel suits cost it, credit card transactions cost it, and we basically hit a low blow on them and staggered there advances.

When I tried to give them my .02 I got a message that the minimum donation was $15.00!

Anybody has a suggestion. I tried the credit card option.

Just tried to leave my $.02 and it wouldn't take it. Damn page actually said "oops" when it returned the error. What a joke. Oh well. Ya know, I find it interesting that they envision a country with no gun violence. Is there one of those anywhere on earth?? Maybe someone should take 2 steps away from the crack pipe....
