Stopped off at the local gun store today to do some day dreaming.
I guy comes in wanting to look at the Glocks. The one guy behind the counter today hates Glocks and started going into his horror stories about no external safety and how so many LEO's hoave shot themselves with the things.
I'm standing there thinking, "If they just keep their fingers off the triggers it wouldn't be a problem."
However, this guy fires back, without even looking up, "I see you're the revolver type."
"Yep! S&W .44 Magnum!" (he had it holstered on his hip)
Guy says, "So where's your external safety on that thing?"
Guy behind the counter turned red in the face! I've never thought about it that way before and I guess he hadn't either.
So why didn't all those LEO's have problems with their revolvers way back before Glocks came out? I think maybe they got use to have that external safety which allowed them to be a little more careless! When they switched to Glocks they probably realized some bad habits that they'd had for a long time.
Nomex on, flame at will!
Oh yeah, the potential customer turned around and walked out.
