If a state that currently allows Title II and Class III weapons, bans assault rifles; do the Title II
and Class III owners get to keep their toys? Anyone here live in a state where this has happened?

Assault weapons and machine guns are different animals and depending on how any law is written it may or may not include MGs. There is no correct answer to your question, it would be a case by case situation.
