Not much of a choice. I have to pick the one that sucks the least to me. I guess the stone had a few decent songs.

Funny thing is I grew up in the heyday for both groups 60's 70's and never got into either much.

I'm going to buck the trend and say Rolling Stones.  Too many good songs.  I do love Floyd though.

Uhh don't just think about songs you hear on tv or at sporting events.  Songs like THIS:

Some of my personal favorties:

Sympathy for the Devil
Mother's Little Helper
Tumblin Dice
Rip This Joint
Little T&A
Rocks Off
Dead Flowers
Gimme Shelter
Midnight Rambler
Under My Thumb
Miss You
Monkey Man

Pink Floyd is good but c'mon, how much acid rock 30 minute jam sessions can you take? although, the strangest song I've ever heard is Pink Floyd's "Bike."  Too weird.

The Stones wrote songs. Pink Floyd made art. I'll never get tired of Pink Floyd.

+1 on "not even close."

Wish You Were Here
is the best album ever.

IMHO, of course.

If you like hippie music, listen to Floyd.

If you like ROCK AND ROLL, it has to be the Stones.

At least Floyd had music  that makes ya think. And didn't make songs with repetative lyics that are annoying.

Yeah, but what about Ummagumma?

That was pretty out there.

The video of them playing in the outdoor (greek?) amphitheater....

...perfect.

Live at Pompei

the directors cut of L.A.P. actually contains a SEPERATE edit of the ENTIRE concert in the ampitheater.........ultra SWEET!!!!

Animals is a work of art...just an amazing album. It's got even better continuity than Dark Side.

Floyd is by far a more original band than the Stones. I love the Stones, but they're just not the genius band Pink Floyd is.

Is it Careful With That Axe, Euguene, where that guy (I guess it's a guy) screams that horrible high pitched ear piercing scream?  (I need to replace that CD...)

Just curious.

Not even a contest.....the stones enjoyed a lot of commercial success....and i will never understand why. They have had a lot of catchy songs....and they were pretty good at what they did...but i have always thought they were highly overated....musically they had the right sound at the right time...talent was not what got them to where they are...was just luck.

a have just about every cd for both groups,so it's not that i dont like them.
it's that neither had the "light & shade" of Zeppelin.
they would change directions 6 times on one album.
It's all about feel
Page may not have been technically perfect but he played with feel and Bonham had a sex groove like no other on drums and a little thing called sparing  less=more sometimes it's not what you play but what you leave out
