I must be the only person who doesn't feel an ounce of sympathy for a bunch of countries that routinely SHIT on the United States and then turn around and demand money due mother nature PMSing again. Oh GOODIE! Why should I send money to help a bunch of fucking socialist pigs? This doesn't make sense to me. Someone really must have been on crack when they decided to set up charities. Boo hoo.

Lets see, they have:

PROSTITUTION!!!!
RESORT COMMUNITIES!!!!!!
ILLEGAL GAMBLING!!!!!!
NARCOTICS SMUGGLING!!!!!!

and all of these wonderful things above with percentage payoffs to the governments there. They're claiming they don't have money?! EAT SHIT! I think it's about time their governments get off their ass and use their own money for once(BELIEVE ME! they DO have enough if they WANT to use it.) instead of panhandling like a bunch of homeless people. Anyways, and on top of all of this, don't forget that the majority of the people in these countries grow up to be the same kind of socialist assholes that their governments are. So now I ask, why should I give a shit about them?

EDITED TO SAY: THAT'S RIGHT YOU TSUNAMI-HIT COUNTRIES!!! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF PANHANDLING ASS STINK!!!!!

and yes I know my website post was profane, but you gotta admit, i'm right on this. Can't deny it.

If you would like to pull your head out of your ass for a minute you would realize that United States foreign policy is not guided by who deserves what, but rather what is good for the United States and, as a secondary concern, the rest of the world. It should be plain as day that without help, and even with help, that entire region just got turned on its ass in terms of political stability. A region with a large number of people with a lot of resentment for the United States. Don't you think it would be wise to try and help these people out? Does hearts and minds mean anything to you?

It's nice to see that you believe that 150,000 people are a deserved casualty number for these people. You're absolutely right, let them rot in the streets.

Brilliant, buddy. I'm glad to see your humanity is intact.

common sense when judging the scenery both political and business-wise. America can have harsh taxes at time, but they pale in comparison to what countries like the tsunami victims have on them, and if they can keep exotic resorts running like they do, then that right there tells you something.

Actually I wasn't bashing the united states gov itself, I was bashing these stupid self-help organizations who are running these fund raising campaigns for the so-called victims. My humanity isn't in question here.

Fair enough. Demanding help on their end is probably in poor form, but then again, I don't know if that means we shouldn't help as much as is reasonable, provided that it goes to actually helping and not to tinpot dictators and other forms of corruption.

In any case,  the whole "fuck 'em" tone is, I dunno, a little too "bad boy" for me.  I'm sorry if I jumped on you there, but this whole "let the whole region rot because of an Osama t-shirt" thing I've been hearing a lot of recently is ridiculous. If you're not trying to make the case that those countries (and consequently the people that live there) deserved what they got and don't deserve foreign help, try not to paint millions of people as subhuman "socialist assholes".  However, if that is the case, I stand by my earlier assessment.

Our foriegn aid should never be straight cash.
The tsunami victims need food, water, shelter. Their govts need help with logistics and infrastructure.
We have the logistics and food/water thang covered.
We dont need to give cash to any country.

and when the volcano soon erupts here and wipes out 30% of the USA, how many of the people we help will reciprocate? they will probably invade us since it would be good timing...

It's the humane thing to help people caught up in a disaster.  We are a caring nation and we've always come to the aid of any country that needed our help.  Having said that, I'm sure after this is all over that the survivors will be just as anti-American as they were before.

If the roles were reversed, they would probably be stripping the jewelry from the bodies, selling food and medicine at outrageous prices and carrying off anything else of value.

Why is this being brought up again?

Are people unaware that there are a ton of Christians in these effected places? Christian missionaries? That literally hundreds and thousands are converting from the ROP to Christianity every day? And that the largest numbers of people there  just want to live their life in peace with no thought of doing us harm? Are they unaware that there are small children over there who are not hopeless? Are they unaware that entire segments of humanity are not simply flushable?

I am no bleeding heart, but for pete's sake.

This kind of crap has gone on long enough. I don't know what's worse, the crimes perpetrated in these countries in the name of islam/greed/whatever, or the people over here that somehow think that this kind of disaster was "deserved" and "about time."

For crying out loud, listen to yourselves.

A great many of the people that were killed in this disaster did not deserve it and were no threat to you or me.

Deal with it.

I wouldn't mind seeing one deal made for aid money - don't violate our copyright laws anymore or you won't get our money...

Giving to relief aid (aside from the relief the Federal Government is donating) is purely voluntary.  If you don't want to give anything, then don't.  There's no need to launch into an emotional screed.
Many of the folks who got their asses kicked by the tsunami are just ordinary people who were living at the wrong place at the wrong time.  Are some of them "bad" people?  Sure.  Are some of them "good" people?  Sure.  I think the gambling and prostitution issues that are brought up on these threads are just a red herring.  We have legalized gambling and prostitution in our country, too.  It's the right of people in different parts of the world to create the local laws according to their customs with which they want to live, IMO.  That's got no bearing upon whether or not one wishes to help people out who are now wiped out and desperate.

I didn't say about time. I didn't say they deserved to die, I just said they don't deserve our money. I don't care about them.

cause nobody gives a shit. This is all a ploy, I guarantee if people werent going around panhandling right now, this would have been forgotten about in no time at all. Everyone would have been "oh well, too bad" but now everyone's crying their little eyes. "oh boo hoo, it's not fair. someone send the socialist pigs some money."
