I've got a Jeep Grand Cherokee that came with 235/65/17 tires as stock on the stock rims (Freedom Edition). I am planning on a 2.5" lift. Will a set of Goodyear MT/R's with a size of 265/70/17 fit my jeep on the STOCK rims?  I'm confused as to what tires will fit on which rims.  Since the final 17 stays the same, I'm guessing I'm Ok?

265 = tread width in MM

70 = aspect ratio = sidewall height as a percent of tread width (i.e. 70% of 265)

17 = rim diameter in inches.

The only thing you must watch for is rim width vs. tire width but your tire store should know what fits.  (This is rather forgiving.)

Oopsie dupe....what the other guy said!

265 = tread width basically
70 = sidewall height basically
17 = rim diameter

Easy stuff.
