So, whats it cost you to keep your black rifles fed?

I was getting Q3131A for 18 cents a round....my supply dried up and now I am getting XM193 for 20 cents a round (prices based on by the case)

Anyone getting cheaper that that for non-wolf ammo?
Anyone got a mail order suggestion for non-wolf that will beat those prices?

Lets hear it

I was getting IMI for $.1575 per round and that dried up to. I wish I could find deals like that again (besides Wolf).

$127 plus shipping of the various components, add to that the immense amount of time and effort to load the cases....

The intitial investment required to begin reloading prevents many from starting.

I have loaded my own in the past. I am set up and well stocked to load now. But as long as ammo is still cheap, I'll just keep buying it.
I do miss the $20.00 South African battle packs. I chuckle everytime I recall the ARFCOM experts assuring everyone that importation would resume within a few months. That was a couple of years ago.

The 8lb keg loads about 2200 rds. The brass I can get 5-7 loadings on. Lots cheaper for me. Plus I reload alot of 308 Win and 9mm, .45 Auto.

The Dillon XL650 gets a workout.

I use Guatamalan surplus a lot at 12.8 cents a pop. I also shoot Hornandy's 3-D Barrier every once in a while for just a little more.  Other than that its Walmart White Box or Wolf.

I just picked up 5k of Q3131A for $0.14 a round.

Normally, I shoot wolf for plinkin ($0.11)

I also buy from these guys:  www.georgia-arms.com/canned_heat.htm

That's 55gr FMJ for $0.15 per round, delivered, no tax... if you buy $500 worth of ammo.

I also use their 52gr match, which comes out to $0.21 per round.  With Black Hills 52gr. match coming out to $0.28 per round.... the Georgia Arms stuff is a good deal.  I use their .308 and .38spl as well.

When i really wanna shoot the good stuff, I buy BH 77gr SMK, but its like $0.35 or more.

$0.137 per round for Q3131A.

Buy it during the fall hunting classic at Bass Pro Shop.

Apply for their BPS credit card and they reduce their sale price by another 10%.

Buy enough to last you a while.

Buy every year.  You can apply for more than one card and still get the discount.  A BPS clerk asked me if I wanted a CC and told me about the discount.  I told him I already had one, but would sure like the discount.  He told me to apply for a second card and I would still get the 10%.

The funshow has Q3131A or XM193 for $85 even for 500 rounds. BPS forces me to stock up.
Ofcourse my defenition of stocking up is different than many folks here.

I usually get Q3131a at the gunshows for 169k.  I picked up some Federal AE.223 at the last gunshow for $80 for 500rds.

Stock up for sure!  I actually ended up with Remington UMC ammo this year.  My BPS was out of the Q3131A so I bought a bunch of the Remngton and save my Q3131A.

The Remington seems to be very good stuff as well.  It actually retailed much higher than the Q but they matched the price on the ad for the Winchester.

If I had the option, I would have taken the Q.

That's an awesome price.  I pay $150/K and that's about the cheapest U.S. commercial ammunition I can find.
