Well, I travel abroad extensively (usually one week each month), and have found a signficant amount of America hating. I have also found in many nations, that the people there would move to the US is a New York minute if they were able.
BTW, hating Ameica is nothing new. Its been around for a LONG time. |
Fuck em and feed em fish heads! They all love the shit outta us as long as WE are handing out money to em, but when they are asked to pony up something they go anti on us. They are just ingreatful.
Bring it! In this I am very much with the Russian psyche: If we can't win, we'll make sure no one else does. |
Since when is the U.S. "handing out money" to Europe? Keep in mind that Britian is the strongest ally, and has sent a huge portion of their military (which is much smaller than the U.S. military) to Iraq. I get the impression that there's a lot of dislike for BUSH in Europe (and elsewhere) that is not necessarily refecting a general dislike for the U.S. Also please remember that "Europe" is just a geographical label - despite the E.U. there is not "Europe" - Norway has about as much in common with Portugal or Greece as they do with China or the Congo. |
The only ones hating the USA are the ones that have no hope of ever coming here!
DK - I equate defending the continent for the second half of the 20th century as handing out money.
I personally have zero problems with the Brits, they are th US's greatest ally. In addition, my comments weren't necessarily directed at Europe but at the world in general. |

Good info from the Dutchman. |

Got it - I agree with that sentiment completely. |

Northern Ireland is the same. My family (in-laws) over there love to bash Bush. My wife's uncle is currently mailing me a book by Michael Moore because it will supposedly convince me that GW is a war criminal, etc. Interestingly, the 40-something and older crowd in the family universally hate Bush, but the teenager and 20-something crowd will listen to my pro-Bush arguments and some even support me. I actually had 1 lad screaming "USA USA USA" in a bar last year! A lot of alcohol helped his conversion no doubt, but a true story nonetheless. All is not lost!
Impossible. Howard Dean has assured me that the British do not allow "bashing" in their Newspapers and that they do not have the Media Bias that the United States has because of their Libel Laws.

Fuck them if they do
Appropriate, considering my post count. <------------- GM |

Anytime the worlds largest debtor nation is also the lone military superpower there's going to be resentment, particularly when the debtor nation is throwing its weight around preemptively liberating resources.

There are PLENTY of people here in the states that hate America.

For one, you should have not left the country unless you left with a rifle.
Second, who the hell cares if we are hated by "the world". America is "the world". At least the good part of it anyway. |

Yes.
Most Europeans are socialists and Bush is not. Kerry is the socialist and they like that. CRC |

I'm pretty sure that's a no. Tony Blair has committed a good part of England's military to the War on Terror, and there hasn't been that much of a backlash against him. (Of course, the leftist hate his guts because of it, but he hasn't been thrown out of office or anything). I would imagine that London is kinda like New York - almost like a giant convention of all the Liberals, Leftists, Socialists, and Communists in the nation. Not that there aren't any Conservatives there, but they mostly get drowned out. Things might be a bit different in rural England outside of London.
Say, where's vito113 when you need him? |
OOH FUCKING RAH. That would make somebody a powerful sig line. |
Why are you calling him a troll? I have traveled to the UK numerous times in the past two years, and I have to agree with what BORG writes. I was in Manchester while OIF was in progress, and the UK media was gloating at how badly the war was going, and that it had turned into a quagmire from which the US and UK would never reach Baghdad. Of course, when I got back to the U.S., they were pulling Saddam's statue down in Baghdad. |
It's the subliminal messages in his posts: "Is America doomed to go it alone as Europe and the rest of the world gang up against it?" "Everyone else wants Kerry in the White House on November 3rd!" "I travel rather extensively and am concerned that almost everyone outside of the United States hates this President and our country." - This one is blatant line that Kerry supporters spew like yesterday's breakfast! BORG didn't even TRY and conceal this one! He's mocking us to our faces. |
Who gives a sh*t? Fu*k anybody who doesn't like us. I don't care.
Why do they hate us? Because we invaded Iraq? Because of our policies in Isreal? Beacuse we pulled out of the International Criminal Court? What should we do to rectify this international contempt for our nation? Submit to the will of the UN and make the defense of our country secondary to the collective opinion of the security council? Perhaps if we showered less and ate more Brie cheese the world may like us better. Or maybe we are just too well armed for their tastes. If John Kerry wins, will your troubles overseas go away? |
The only people who have to travel abroad, do so because the military tells them. |
BORG? Where are you?
Come back little troll, and answer my question. Why does the rest of the world hate us, and what should we do about it? Do you think that if John Kerry wins, then people in London pubs will treat you nicer? |
I believe that we're hated because of the freedoms we enjoy and the fact that the U.S. has progressed from a Superpower to become the world's only Hyperpower. It is jealousy for the most part, but media bias and misinformation is playing a large role too. And you're dead-wrong motown_steve; I am 100% pro-BUSH. Anyone who values our Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment cannot possibly be a supporter of Kerry, who is rightfully described as the most anti-gun Presidential candidate in history. |
This is not a facist dictatorship. |
You don't have to be pro-Bush to satisfy me, you just need to be 100% anti-Kerry, and 100% anti-UN! I personally do not care what the rest of the world thinks. I am an American. I love America. I am not concerned with Western Civilization. I am concerned with America. I want to preserve America, American values, American freedoms, American culture, American sovergeinty, and most importantly American PEOPLE! If we have to get aggressive in order to preserve America, then so be it. If the rest of the world doesn't like it, then too bad! |
I would expect better from you motown_steve. Please stop name-calling and don't read between the lines of my posting because there is no subliminal message there either. |
The international media is incredibly biased.
Just stop travelling abroad, or just go to countries where the people are friendly. I have decided not to travel overseas this year. I'm going to save my money for a nice vacation in the USA. GunLvr |
You're one post behind. If you are honestly not trying to slip Anti-Bush rhetoric into our drinking water, then I apologize. |
Good advice. Spend your money in the U.S. and stop making those out there who hate us richer. |
You're concerned for how the rest of the world thinks about us?? Sounding a bit like you're leaning left man... get your ass back here and let us straighten you out. America will not be doomed to go it alone... we'll be blessed. F*** the rest of the world. |
Sounds a bit too much like a Nazi rally speech circa 1937 or so to me. |
I don't mean it in that way. Just that the only people who absolutely have to go overseas are those who do so in order to protect us (the military). |
The best barometer of doing right as a nation is to be hated by all the right people. |
Apology accepted motown_steve. The UN is dysfunctional and Kofi Annan should be investigated for corruption linked to the oil-for-food program. Rebecca Peters ought to restrained in Australia for trying to spread her anti-gun message and George Soros should have his U.S. citizenship revoked for undermining our Second Amendment Rights. Kerry must be denied the White House at all costs. |

One good thing about going at it alone is that you don't have to worry about europe, or anyone else fucking it up.
