Talked to the circulation dept. She said "We have been getting a lot of those this weekend and today. I'll pass the word along." It was a small victory, but enjoyable, none the less.

Hahaha.  Suckers.  Any source of news should know better.  Our paper at home is very left wing, and is depressing to read.  I don't read it anymore.

Did you actually tell them why you were cancelling? If so good job.

Nicole, at circulation, asked me why I was cancelling, I told her because they endorsed Kerry. That's when she said they'd been getting a lot of that.

Good on ya Da_Bunny !!

I wouldn't even wrap fish guts with my local Socialist Worker  newspaper.

I've been getting the SF Comical for free all October.  I keep telling them I don't want it, and to quit cloggin up my recycle bin.  If I didn't think it would stop next week, I'd send them part of my garbage bill.

I got sick of the Free Press so I canceled it. Now I just get the weekend paper (combined papers in MI; good for circulars, sports, and what the "other side" thinks).

I thought I'd miss it. After years upon years of getting the daily paper I was surprised to discover I really don't!

You need to move here...the Indy Star endorsed Bush.

Seattle Paper? We get the Tacoma News Tribune. I can't remember if they made any endorsement.

both the Trenton Times and The New York Times have been dropping off free samples lately. Then during the week someone calls, hello mr. maxwell, how did you like your free sample of our paper? that is when i tell them that shana, our guard doggie pissed all over it, she REALLY hates liberals!
be well
maxwell

And if they endorsed Bush, they would have gotten an equal (probably), amount of cancellations also.

Damned if you do... damned if you don't.

Better for them (or any newspaper/news agency), to just sit on the sidelines and keep their opinions to themselves.

Endorsemnets = biased journalism.

Personally, I think it's pretty sad that any endorsement by any newspaper/news agency carries any credibility with any voter. And just as bad, candidates will point it out in their campaign literature.

Who gives a flying fuck what any editorial board thinks.

Vote based on your heart and own opinions... not on what some liberal or conservative asshat in your local rag thinks you should vote.

Here we have a morning and afternoon paper published by the same company.
The Arizona Daily Red Star and the Tucson Comrade.
I quit them way back when they endorsed dukakis, mondull, klinton and now Skerry.....see a pattern ??
I get calls all the time wanting me to subscribe again and they get an earfull each and every time.

We're doing the same thing tomorrow.  I'm tired of that rag anyway.

I quit the Arizona Republic (repulsive) 15 yeras ago when they really started to lean to the left. I do not get a paper as I have no pet birds who's cages need a lining.

I love it when the fucks call me up to subscribe. I just tell them the facts and the truth of what I and many of my friends think of their Communist drivel. "NYET" I tell them. Where the hell is Barry Goldwater when you need him?

The Prescott paper is better as is the Mesa Tribune but I live in North Glendale. Can't get them here.

The local paper here endorsed Kerry also but I don't subscribe anyway. The next time they call me to bug me to buy their rag I can now say no because they endorsed Kerry.

The Everett Herald, I already know better than to read Seattle papers.

Bravo....my man.  Stick it to those assholes.  Kerry is a commie...as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, they've been sending the Chronicle for the past few months.  My roomate and I just figured the other ordered and only figured it out a couple weeks ago.  Yeah, pretty much just stuffs the recycling.  Only reason I haven't cancelled is for the Trader's ad on Thursday.
