I saw this on consumptionjunction.com and figured someone here could educate me.

What is it? What does it shoot? Where and when would it mostly be  likely used?

Thank you.

If I recall correctly I saw this on tails of the gun or American Shooter or something..It was the worlds largest rifle intended to be shot by a single person.  Anti-tank rifle in WWII or something...

Don't hold me to this...

Right, I understand its bigger in diameter, but I was asking in terms of effectiveness. More of a qualitative judgment.

Perhaps bigger is better.

Just busting your chopps... Last time I looked it was about $40 a round when you could find them. You have to reload on this monster. Power wise it is about double that of the .50 cal.
Like some one once said "You can shoot through schools with this."

Friend of mine told his father was lucky (?) enough to shoot that thing when he was in army but he wasn´t man enough to finish one magazine (5 rounds).

With double-protection, it'd be like firing a .223 with only muffs.

Seriously, you can stand a few feet away from a 120mm when it's fired if you have double. Your stomache, ears, eyes, nose, and general health would be a little off due to the pressure of such a round being fired, but you wouldn't be deaf.
