Here are some shots from Dyess taken on Saturday 9 Oct 04.
These are the aircraft from the 13 Bomb Squadron.

The 13 Bomb Squadron is inactivating on 28 Oct leaving the 9th Bomb Squadron and the 28th Bomb Squadron as Dyess's two B-1Squadrons.

The 13th Bomb Squadron is moving to Whiteman, becoming the 13th Weapons Squadron, the B-2 Weapons School Squadron assigned to the 57th Wing at Nellis.

Nice color.
I've mostly seen them in green and some old pics of them in desert colors.

Jimmy Carter wouldn't be happy with this thread.

B-1B Ser#85-061 used to be called "Mr. Bones" when it was with the 128th Bomb Squadron in GA Air National Guard. Here is what the nose art looked like. I wonder what happened to it? Please don't tell me someone painted over it because the bird came from a Guard unit.

Would do the same thing if you didn't load the bomb bays in the right sequence.

bmick325 - absolutely right - however, this case was a fueling problem.

I was there in 2001-2002. I got nose art T-shirts of all the birds in the 128th before they went away. "The Last Laugh" is my personal favorite. BTW, does anyone know where "059" is now?

Some pictures of them doing what they were meant to do.

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A B-1B Lancer from the global power bomber combined test force here drops a Joint Standoff Weapon during a recent test mission. The test marked the first time the JSOW has been dropped from the long-range bomber.

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A B-1B Lancer releases a payload of inert weapons here, after its record breaking flights. The B-1B unofficially set and broke almost 50 new world speed records during the air show Oct. 25 and 26, 2003.

FILE PHOTO -- A B-1B Lancer unleashes cluster munitions. The B-1B uses radar and inertial navigation equipment enabling aircrews to globally navigate, update mission profiles and target coordinates in-flight, and precision bomb without the need for ground-based navigation aids.

I can't find out where it is, but it is called "Better Duck" now.
It was the 19th B-1B built, the first one built in 1985 as a B-1B Lot IV Lancer.

It looks like 86-133 got painted over too. She used to be the "Memphis Belle 2". That really stinks.

KA3B-Many thanks for all the photos and aviation posts. Keep 'em coming.
