That is a puffer snake. Whatver you do dont touch it. The acids on its skin cause an allergic reaction in human skin 50 times worse than poison ivy. Hence the name.

with my herpetology skills, and the lack of detail in the pic my educated guess would lead me to believe that is a corn snake.  makes a good pet, and harmless to humans

Its a Cobrattle snake half cobra half rattle snake genetically engineered by the US Military to be air drpped behind enemy lines and kill off entire populations.... watch out it will scoon increase in size 20x and devour your family

In all honesty it does look like a corn snake... I have never heard of a puffer snake...

Ran google search for Ohio Puffer Snake got no hits on puffer snake other than Puff Adder which I doubt is hwta you are talking about do you have a link or anything for puffer Snake?

Looks to be something in the corn snake family.  Looks just like the gopher shakes we have out here, 'cept slightly differnt coloring.  Whatever it is, the head shape suggests it is NOT poisonous.

You guys are all wrong...


That is a Eastern Brown Snake also known as a Dekay's Snake.  The are a Naractine Colubrid like a Garter Snake or Water Snake.  They eat insects, preferably slugs.  They are often found in yards and gardens.  They grow about 12" long.  

They are not constrictors like a Corn Snake and the Brown Snake will discharge shit on you if you pick it up.
