all that said, it's not cool to trash a woman if she's overweight, especially since she is the mother of 3 children. Bottom line, women's beauty can be fleeting if it's only based on outwrd appearances and not on charachter. Luckily, after 2 children, my wife is still beautifu, but I'd venture to say she's not 24 anymore and looks it, but youknow what? I still love her if not more despite adding 5 or so lbs. So What? I am a conservative Republican w/ real problems w. Bush spend policies and think he should quit calling "islam" a "religion of peace" (it's not, it's a gutter cult of death and should be eradicated, that's why the pope declared a crusade in the 12th cent), but he's getting my vote because the AWB sunset. He would Not if it hadn't, (Peroutka anyone) but I do think Edwards is a lot less of a snake than Kerry. That being said, leave his wife alone. I'm sure some of your women aren't perfect in appearance either.

Edwards' wife is a beard for political purposes. An overweight woman is better for getting the female vote, studies show women are put off by attractive women and hostile towards men with attractive mates. Have you noticed often plain and even ugly women are showing up in ads? It polls well with women.

I think as women age their beauty comes through more as a result of their attitude about things. Women who are happy tend to look good. Women who are always pessimistic tend to start looking bad as they age. I look at Laura Bush and Lynn Cheney and see two women who are happy and content with their lives. Looking on the other side I see two women who are embittered with the world and all around them. Their faces reflect their attitudes.
