Only good for revolvers...at close range....with lightweight clothing....etc.

Glasiers and Mag-Safes are, intentionally or not, gimmick rounds. They perform as designed, but the designers ideas of what makes an effective load is totally off-base. Like all known pre-fragmented ammo, they give very shallow penetration that is rarely going to reach, much less reliably damage, the vital organs. It is far more important that you have ammo that is EFFECTIVE than ammo that doesn't penetrate interior walls. The latter can be delt with in a variety of ways, but the former can (and has) gotten people killed.
None of this even concerns the extremely high cost of approx $3 per round, which makes practicing with this ammo financially impossible for nearly anyone. -Troy |

Glasers are extremely effective when used against shaken, unopened cans of Busweiser. Probably shouldn't use Glasers against someone wearing a vest of unopened beer cans. The round didn't make it all the way through the can.

I fooled around with a similar round, Magsafes, for a bit. I figured out how to make my own, more or less - velocities weren't up to snuff, but I usually got close.
I tested them out on uncooked pork roasts, some with clothing over them, some not. While the 9mm/45's pellets did penetrate a decent amount, I got the impression that the deep down tissue damage just wouldn't be enough to stop a serious perp. Yes, he'd bleed out pretty fast, but instant stop, dunno. They didn't seem to be affected by heavy clothing though (4 layers denim, shirt). I abandoned the whole idea in favor of high quality JHPs. |

To play Devil's Advocate, the rounds are great against insects or very small rodents like mice.

here's powdered tungsten with bonded lead fired next to hydra shok. the black is the tungsten. That stuff makes a hole, not pellet size stuff. I had to put down a hundred pound dog who almost killed my dog. One .45 in the chest into the neck area. It anchored it. You notice the hydra shok out penetrates it because it yaws and makes a slice like shooting a penny. it weighs like a .45 should,230 grains.
 wait till you see my new stuff in .308. Oh, the gel is "sim-test" from corbin manufacturing. Great stuff.
