So I have dreamed of purchasing a new P320 Legion and was still going to up until about 2 weeks ago. While I'm not trying to stir any more Sig P320 discussion, I just can't buy one after how Sig has handled the whole P320 debacle. Now I'm evaluating other options. I'm currently shooting a G17/5 with RMR at the range and daily carry a G19/5. While I really LIKE and TRUST my Glocks, I want something....different....better. I'm seriously considering a Walther PDP Pro-X full size. This is the full size frame with comp and comes with 3 20 round mags for $950ish. New pistol requirements: 1. Under $1200 2. Full-size gun (4.5" or greater barrel length) 3. Optics ready 4. Rail for light 5. Affordable mags 6. Striker fired Guns I'm considering....Walther PDP Pro-X, S&W M&P 2.0 Metal, Canik TTI. What else should I be looking at GD? |

I love my Glock 34, it's a great pistol. But if I were to switch today, right now. It would be one of the S&W M&P metal. The higher end models are simply good looking, feel great and shoot amazing. I've gotten to shoot one of the higher end ones a lot and I like it. |
| Mainly because a good SA/DA gun optics ready pushes the price above my $1200 budget. I also don't want to re-train to deal with the safety and/or a heavy DA first shot. I have considered a CZ Shadow 2 OR but I'm not going there yet. I own a CZ P-01 that I used to carry and I shoot it quite well. |

Definitely go Shadow 2 now, no question. |

Then why would you have to “retrain”, particularly for just a range gun? Also… what’s a “range gun”? Like how does that get used, exactly? |

PDP Pro-X is awesome. However the Canik Steel frame is currently only $700 which is a steal for steel, and also shoots really well. https://gun.deals/product/canik-sfx-rival-s-9mm-ss-70181-add-cart-price  That said, if you can move off striker, the Turk 2011's (Tisas / Mac) are a huge bang for the buck and probably the most fun range pistol due to better triggers and milder recoil of a hammer gun. |

The Walther PDP Pro models have a fantastic trigger. I really do like my Glocks and trust them completely. I just want to get into something different and really try to improve my shooting skills. |

Glock 47, FCD plate, Trijicon or Aimpoint Acro, Glock Performance Trigger v2, minus connector (OEM or the OP NP3 one), 5lb Wolf striker spring (won’t reduce trigger pull, but reduces the post break inertia. Not mandatory, but nice.) The 4.5 Wolf is nice in the non GPT pistols, it was set off mil spec LC 9mm, you’ll want to change them out yearly or more often, depending on how much you shoot. OEM is 5.5-5.3lbs. Use Aeroshell on the GOT lube points, lasts longer, lessens the likelyhood if getting that weird first pull after the pistol has been sitting. |

Quoted: Shadow 2 optic ready FPNI If you were considering the 320 legion with a tungsten frame, then definitely go with a shadow 2 OR. The shadow is a heavy 9mm and shoots nice. Has an excellent single action trigger too, light years ahead of a striker (not exaggerating). |

2011 is what you seek. MAC 9DS Comp 4.25". Pistol was under $1100, and can probably be found cheaper than the extortion I had to pay for living in CO. Attached File |

But the gun types are different and I want to stay with a striker fired gun for now. Eventually I will invest in a 2011 but not yet. A "range gun" in my mind is one that is used almost solely for target and competition shooting and is not really intended for daily concealed carry. Could definitely but be used in a home defense/night stand gun role. |

This won't improve your shooting skills one iota. Take your $1200 and buy 2000 rounds of ammo and a 2 day course with a respected pistol instructor. Not your local tactard. Look for someone who has been teaching a long time and has a solid competition background to validate their training methods. |
