I just renewed my membership this afternoon . . . not because of the AWB sunset, but because my membership expired a couple of weeks ago.

I never made any promises. I knew that I'd STILL be broke after the sunset. I dreamed, but alas, it doesn't look like it's happening. What will happen is that I'll come into some $$$ right after the NEW ban. So someone save me a new-ban carbine with non-pinned stock and flash hider please. And at post-ban prices!

I have been wondering about this as well....I remember quite a few people that made this claim.
Anyone follow through? How much is the lifetime membership now? $500? I re-upped for 3 years last year....after this term is up, I may go the lifetime route. Will see what the one time fee is by then. They always send me deals on membership rates...actually, that reminds me, they owe me a hat. |

I vowed to build more black rifles to replace the ones lost in a tragic fishing accident.
I actually signed up to be a life member during the Democratic National Convention. I listed to Kerry talk for about 10 minutes, then I got up and called the NRA. I felt clean at the end of his speech, did you? |

I didn't make myself that particular promise, but I joined the NRA anyway when I realized that there are very few organizations that will fight for my 2nd Ammendment rights like the NRA will.

I used to be a member of the NRA. I found that they were too moderate and I let my membership lapse. I told myself if the AWB sunsets that the NRA must have done something right. So I am once again a member of the NRA. I do prefer Gun Owners of America to the NRA! I guess for now I will belong to both.

 Signed up as a Life Member by phone on 9/10 when it was clear that it was dead. Even sent the NRA a "thank you" email (and Fineswine a "FOAD" one).

Upped to Endowment level on the expiration date.
Now, to block the UN treaty thing (still not clear on potential impact to US citizens, but not good regardless). Get nationwide CCW and hopefully start reducing crime levels. Correct the NJ & CA other state bans. Get more people out shooting for fun. Heck of a better sport than golf, in my opinion. Enjoy a little bit of life returning to the idyllic, polite days after WWII when the good sense that the average household contained firearm trained & firearm owning vets was a good deterrent to criminals. I want that back again. |
