What is your opinion on the United Nations?

Should we leave the Socialistic Machine or stay in it to keep our veto power?

Or should we submit to the UN?

Stay to keep our veto power.

I am not sure if we should leave at the present time, but once the UN starts actively campaigning for Global Taxation I believe it is time to leave. Once they have the power to tax we will have lost our Soveriegnty.

As much as I'd love to see us leave and pull out all our funding and troops, a part of me wants to stay to keep that veto power and to be a thorn in the bastard's side. Just think of how the UN would treat nations like Israel if we weren't there to take up for them.

However, if they go much farther, I see no alternative but to leave. As fighter pilots might say, "we need to be targeting those bastards, not rubbing wings with them." I see the UN as a much greater enemy than an ally more and more with each passing year.

The solution to the UN is the same as that used at Waco.

The UN is generally an anti-US organization.

Disassociating ourselves from it would enable the anti-US blocs to solidify and strengthen.

Remaining a member allows us to exert influence over situations around the world.

Naturally, everybody from the USA to East Timor tries to work the political situation to their benefit.  That's the way it is.

We need to be inside that organization doing what's best for us.

We must also avoid being dominated, influenced, or bullied by the UN.

National security, national sovereignty.  That's the goal.

Ok, so we stay a member, can we evict them from Manhattan, and send them elsewhere? Thier building is prime real estate.

A wise man once said"You should keep your friends close and your enemys closer."

The U.N. is good right where it is where we can keep every room of the building bugged, the phones tapped, follow the pinkos and kommies everywhere they go and record everything.Ultimatly we own the building because it sits in New York. You own the house......the party is yours.

If we leave, they will fold, bankrupt.

I have no problem with that. And we'll still have veto power - the President already carries around a "veto" briefcase (sometimes referred to as "the football").

Fuck the UN.

Either kick them out, destroy that stupid revolver tied in a knot statue and replace all the foriegn flags with American flags...

OR

Make it more understood that we are in charge... it can exist but in a modified form, Call it "united nations under the united states" or something... and put our flag in the middle of all the others and about 10 feet higher.

Explain to me the veto power?

Not knowing what difference it would make, I'd have to go with get out. From what I understand tax payer money is already being throw away by the U.S. being part of the UN, between "membership fees" and all the money we contribute to half baked plans to help lawless countries (like going into a country that pretty much resembles a war zone and expecting to give out food to the hungry in a peaceful and organized fashion).

This is a burdne on U.S. citizens that we could do without... The way I see it it's a Global Welfare System that it's 3rd World Country members would  eventually like to turn into a Global Police State.

During the period it was "formed' it had good intentions, but has since been distorted and corrupted beyond measure. They hardly ever support us unless they are benefitting from it and as soon as they see losses they pull out. As far as I'm concerned they can eat out french fried asses.

Maintaining veto power over these creeps is a good idea, but the best reason for keeping them here is so we can keep bugging all their damn offices.

Leave the UN. We can still side with Israel. So will God.

If we leave, the UN will crumble.

"Where to pal?"
"The U.N. Building"
"The U.N. Building, that place is a dump, they turned it into low-rent housing"

Personally I want us out of the UN. Besides, its not like they are a threat to anyone. You really thing the U.N. could push Israel around if they can even fight fucking untrained, low numbered rebels in Africa? The U.N. is a fucking joke, and we need out of it.

The U.N. can't be any more anti-Israel than they are now.  They can threaten all they want, but they are a powerless organization without us.  All our veto power does is keep resolutions from being passed.  Resolutions we want are usually vetoed by another country.  The U.N. resolutions should be printed on toilet paper so someone could get some use from them.  As far as keeping our enemies close, they've been too close for too long.  We need to actively petition our government to withdraw and force the U.N. to relocate.

I know this sounds far fetched, but in the interests of our country's future, I believe it needs to be done.  They have grown so ineffective that no nation pays any attention to them.  Kofi issued a stern rebuke to us on our fight in Iraq.  Big deal. North Korea continued its nuclear program after being bribed with food for its hungry population just like we knew they would.  Now they say they're going to test a delivery system.  If they are successful, they will become a nuclear power sympathetic to Iran, Cuba, Vietnam, Chechnya and any other organization that is pro terrorist and anti-west.  The U.N. is going to allow this to happen because they are too spineless to stop them.  Anyone who thinks North Korea won't use nukes is kidding themselves.  Their little sawed off dictator is a raving lunatic.  We can either sit on our ass and be swallowed up, or we can act to ensure our future.  There are a lot of very hard decisions that need to be made and carried out.  As long as we're in the U.N., they most likely won't happen.

If we leave, the UN becomes completely worthless and irrelavent.

Without us, where will they get their manpower for their "peacekeeping" missions?

Who will foot the bill for these missions?

I say we leave.  And start charging them rent based on fair market value of their HQ.

What are they going to do about it, make a statement?  I'm shaking.
