My brother in law had the same thing. I think he had to get a new computer. I'll try to find out for sure but I see him rarely though.
Edited to add that spyware, adaware and everything else you can think of didn't help with this virus/hack job. |

In addition to spybot S&D, adaware 6.0 you might want to look into CWS shredder. I dont really know if you have a CWS trojan but this will kill it dead in its tracks. It is also worth having incase you end up with CWS. CWS is evil shit and you dont want it.

Spybot 1.3 and Adaware will get rid of most of that. I also use Yahoo as a browser and they have their own pop up stopper and spyware tools.
The only way to get it, that I know of, is to visit the porn sites. |

CWS stands for Cool Web Search, which is a particularly nasty home page stealer and tracking engine. CWShredder is the only reliable way to remove it.
To avoid getting this stuff, stop using Internet Exploder, and step up to Mozilla Firefox. Never see a pop-up again. |

I had the same type of problem you have.
Here's what works: Download the free version of AD AWARE and SPY BOT, run them, and then you should be ok. Then, try again in a few minutes or after surfing the web (not porn sites again  )If you have cool www search, it will be back. Meaning, that you will need to download CWW shredder. All in all, it should take about 30 min. |

The porn dialers usually require you to delete not just a few cookies, but the actual dialer software. Just run an online virus scanner (or home VS) and it will tell you where it is. Alot of times the VS won't delete it, so you ahve to do it manually.

Get a firewall online ASAP too. There is one standard in XP support pack 2. Otherwise get Zone Alarm. Both are free and can save you a lot of aggravation.
