Two Hamas members killed in IAF Gaza strike

Two Hamas members were killed and five Palestinian bystanders wounded including children, in an IAF missile attack on a pickup truck traveling in the Rimal neighborhood in Gaza City on Monday night.

Palestinians identified the two as Rabah Zaqut and Nabil al-Saeidi, both residents of al-Bureij refugee camp and known members of the Hamas.

The IDF declared the two were en route to fire Kassam rockets into Israel.

It is the second targeted killing carried out by Israel against Hamas fugitives in the past 24 hours. Late Sunday night, Khaled Abu Salamiya, 33, a senior Hamas leader, was killed and eight people were wounded when the car he was traveling in was hit by an IAF missile in Gaza city.

Salamiya was involved in numerous Kassam rocket attacks on Israeli communities and also manufactured the rockets and other weapons to be used in attacks against Israel.

Last week a senior IDF officer declared that Israel would continue its policy of targeted killings especially in the Gaza Strip against the Hamas.

According to Palestinian reports the truck in which al Saedi and Zaqut were riding in bore Palestinian Authority license plates and was blown to smithereens when struck by the missiles.

The targeted killing occurred as dozens of residents in the western Negev town of Sderot gathered in the town's Begin Square to protest the ongoing Kassam rocket attacks on the town and called for more drastic steps to be taken in order to restore security to the town residents.

Speaking on Channel 10, town mayor Eli Moyal said that residents have been living inside a pressure cooker for the past four years and are fed up with the situation.

"A legitimate government cannot remain in power if it is unable to provide security for its citizens," Moyal declared.

Moyal demanded that harsher steps be taken to bring an end to the rocket fire including cutting off the power and telephone communications in Gaza and hitting Palestinian radio stations in order to prevent the Palestinians living in Gaza from communicating among themselves and to the outside world.

Moyal denied rumors that residents demanded to be part of the Gaza disengagement plan due to the failure of the government to stop the rocket attacks on the town and declared that anyone wishing to leave was free to do so.

"Up until now no one has left the town, everyone wants to stay, but we must be allowed to live," he said.

Earlier Monday evening, two Kassam rockets were fired into a kibbutz in the western Negev. The rockets exploded in an open area, there were no reports of damage or casualties.

A Kassam rocket landed inside Sderot Monday morning exploding in the backyard of a house. No one was wounded and no damage reported but several residents were treated for shock.

IDF officials refused to comment whether the newly developed early warning system that is currently being tested in Sderot to allow residents 20 seconds to seek shelter in the event of rocket attacks in the town was functioning when the rocket hit the town.

Elsewhere in the area, two mortars were fired at Israeli communities in Gush Katif and the south Gaza Strip. No one was wounded in the attack.

In the West Bank, a female fugitive who planned to launch an attack in Israel was arrested by security forces in the al-Aida refugee camp north of Bethlehem on Monday morning.

Another Palestinian fugitive was arrested by security forces in a village north of Ramallah.

It does, indeed, make good sense, considering how the entire world except for US, believe them to be the real 'butchers' in this region!

I mean, fercryingoutloud, the 'security fence' they are building has already made the West Bank an unlikely place for suicide bombers to originate from, and the World Court says it's illegal!

Imagine that! Saving your civilian population from being slaughtered and the 'High Court' says it's illegal!

Well, if they cluster-bombed that funeral procession, with all the young boys flocking around, they would be heavily castigated by even the US government!

And the news outlets would be comparing it to the Russian School Massacre!

I think the Israelis know which side their matzoh is buttered on!
