I just watched the local news in milwaukee.
Looks like the local law dogs are going to try to pass
some kind of AWB of their own here.
I am wondering if they are successful, what impact that
is going to have on everyones ar 15s here????????????????
Could they actually confiscate them?????????
Or would it be like a no preban similar law???????
I am really worried because we have a lib for a gov. and
our state reps. have not been able to even pass a ccw law
that was to have been in the bag for us responsible firearm owners.
Anybody else live in a state where this seems too be happening since
the AWB ended????????????

MI is doing the same thing I guess.

But I'm confused by your wording. Are you saying this would be just for Milwaukee or the whole state? In any case, you WI guys out there, GET ON THE PHONES!!!

I'll try and dig up email, phone numbers, etc. for our state reps and legislators.

Ok, here is the home page for the WI state legislature.

www.legis.state.wi.us/

If this is true make sure you contact everyone and let them know your opposition!

Can anyone find any links on this to back up what is really happening?

Find out the language as soon as you can, and start a letter/calling/e-mail campaign! There are bills that have been submitted in both Michigan and Pennsylvania that have similar language.

They are VERY draconian! Michigan's would allow the state police to inspect how you store your assaul weapon once a year!

When the ban died, I called the two local gun shops in the area,
I asked them if they would be offering (no ban) ar 15s.
I was told by one that they would not.
The other one seemed uninterested.
I simply do not see how anyone with half a brain,
could believe that a semi-auto rifle with a collapsable stock
and a bayo lug, could be any more than a simple hunting rifle.
This crap about evil features is BS!!!!
I feel sometimes that I am the only one in this area that has common sense.
How is taking guns away from tax paying, law abiding citizens, going to do
anything but help out the criminals?????????????
I just am sick of this crap!!!!!!!!!
Why can we not just jail the creeps that break the law and leave us law abiding
citizens alone.

Keep on them guys, they are trying the same BS here in PA.

Wisconsin has a pre-emption law.  No city or county can have any firearms laws tougher than the states.

However, this is just reason number 435 why WI is a great place to be FROM.

ESCAPE from WISCONSIN

I think you cannot find anything on the net about this because
its just beginning to become public.
The anti-gun folks have been working on this wonderful surprise
in the closet meetings they hold, just in anticipation of the end of
the AWB.
I will try too find out more about this situation and I will
no doubt share it with all.
Sorry too put a thorn in the works, but it really caught me off guard.
I just ordered three beta mags two days ago from this site.

It would clearly violate the state Constitution. It is dead on arrival....

Can you elaborate? I'm not a lawyer, so when I read the WI constitution the part about RKBA says:

The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation, or any other lawful purpose.

Couldn't the anti's just create a lot of stink about how WI residents will still be able to do these things, but not with "assault weapons"? I mean we already don't have legal CCW and that seems to violate the WI constitution as well.

Yes it does and the concensus is that if it goes to the state SC the prohibition on concealed carry will go down in flames. Someone just has to fight it. However, we will win that battle soon enough.
Further, while the AWban and other laws violate the US Constitution the state Const was nto so long ago amended with a clear intent which is still fresh in the minds of even the courts. Shocking, I know.
I don't see it happening. Soon the anti's will run out of steam. Just keep educating people every chance you get.

Any new updates on this? I still haven't found anything about it in the news yet.

I'm not about to let these filthy cockroaches try and sneak an unconstitutional law under our noses.
