...into a USB 1.0 socket?

I'm looking at an external hard drive so I can save all my mp3s and then reformat my internal HD, but it appears that most of them are 2.0.  Will this be a problem with my 1.0 computer?

How long do you think it would take to copy over 5 gigs of music from the internal to the external via USB 1.0?

Yes it will work no problem but it will be running at 1.0 USB speed as far as time?

It would probably be cheaper to pick up a DVD burner, faster to.

How does that work?  I've had my comp apart before, but I think my current USB plugs are part of my board.

the old ports are "embedded and remain in place. The usb 2 card would slide into an empty pci slot on the motherboard.
