Tell that moron that the Civilian Marksmanship Program which was formed by an act of Congress actively supports service rifle competitions.  I guess the CMP and Congress didn't realize that AR-15 type rifles are only useful to kill police officers.

Comes down to what we've always said about so-called "liberals".  FACTS and LOGIC have no place in their world.  It's driven by emotion, "feelings" and that whatever they must do to achieve the desired outcome is OK because the outcome (as wrong-headed as it might be) is all that matters.

Just reinforces my thought that people like that suffer from a mental illness.  I can't think of any other way to phrase it.  Someone who bases their actions on perceptions, even when those perceptions can be proven wrong and yet still continue to proclaim their "rightness" is deranged to my way of thinking.

Most chiefs of police are "Appointed" which means they are nothing but the puppet mouthpiece of the administration that they work for. I nearly lost my mind when the National police chiefs Assn. went on tv and basically said the country be be "Less safe" with the loss of the AWB. I am a Police officer in a suburb of Chicago, (where the expiration wont make a difference either way because Daley's AWB is more strict than the Feds) and I fail to see how making it illegal for citizens to own a "Assault rifle", and making it extremely difficult for LEO's to purchase them does anything to put real criminals in prison, who run around in the streets of Chicago and my jurisdiction with their piece of shit  Lorcin .32 autos victimizing people who abide by the law.

There are thousands of "Police Chiefs" across the nation.    Lets not sterotype or group the exceptions to an otherwise honorable and tough profession.

The police officers around here are starting to get ARs in their arsenal as of late....these guys don't even know what brand they are if you ask them.  I don't mean any disrespect towards police officers, but they don't seem to even care about having ARs at their disposal, I guess it is just a job for them and they don't get excited about guns and stuff.  I think the only time cops get to see an AR type is on the news covering Iraq and sometimes when near the gun cage at work.  I doubt that they see these things on the street EVER, since most criminals use pistols, sawed-offs and knives.

Right on the money. I too used to be an anti, and a big time lib. That selfless feeling you get when you write out your big tax check- boy, was I stupid as a youth. Then I grew up.

What the has said in his post is something I have felt myself, back in the day. It is a fact that liberals feel this way. It validates their handing over of their fortunes and their rights, in the name of a greater good. This guy is so wrong, you can kill pretty much anyone with an "assault weapon".  The military uses them on everything and they seem to work pretty well.
