It is raining cats and dogs. Sandbags are full and being stacked. Sandbag dams are breaking left and right. The shop is getting flooded. Cars are floating away. Boats are sinking. God is crying.
And here you are posting on the net giving us a play by play. Are you IN the floating Impala? Wireless connection from a laptop?

we just bought a third pump at the local true value hardware. no price gouging here among these civic minded citizens.
the local police are helping out everywhere. off-duty officers are directing traffic and evacuating those in low areas. the state route thru town is closed with over 2' of water across it. last night at 11pm, the nearby small hamlets of kensington and hanoverton were being evacuated...BY BOATS! the streams have risen steadily since 3pm yesterday. reports of bridges washed away and small landslides that have taken out more roads. our secretary tried four different route from her home into town this morning...3 were flooded and one had a bridge missing. on a happy note, the sun is supposed to come out this afternoon! |

ls...5-1/2"-7" since dawn yesterday. this on top of what we've had over the summer is just too much for the saturated ground and the muskingom watershed conservency and flood control to handle.
the flood control lakes, tappen, leesville, atwood and clendening, are at max and they can't let the water down much because of more flooding downstream. |

added two shop vacuums to the battle force!
the neighbors gave us a jon-boat to go out and try to repair the breech in the dam wall. the sandbags were about 8-high there...may be unrepairable at this point. uh oh...muchhooting and hollering from dopwnstairs...better go check on things... |

power is shut off in 2 of our 3 buildings.
i killed the breakers at 7:30am and 8am in those. this building is the most heavily sandbagged. if we start losing it (like we did two saturdays ago and in july of last summer), we'll kill power and use a bucket brigade to keep the machine controller electronics above the water line. engineering is up on the 2nd floor, so all my stuff is safe. oh...al the shouting was for the fox8 news helo that flew down from cleveland to see all us yokals out tubing down the big sandy creek at 35mph! heheh! waldo, look for me on the 6 o'clock news...i'm the extremely handsome young man getting ready to do a cannonball into our parking lot! |

Things must be rough in OH, at least here in FL, after the rain all the sinkholes start opening up to drain things, pisses me off when some inconsiderate bastard leaves his car parked over an developing sinkhole, damn cars plug up the drain! Little freak though, because you don't get any warning, just a fooomp, slurp.

We got SEVEN INCHES as of last night! Parts of I-70 are underwater. Bridges on the secondaries are out. Schools are closed (little Ramjet's in the office with me today). There are a lot of helicopters flying about this morning. Hang in there Campybob! I saw the maps and you got kicked in the ass too. |
