I go to this site to talk some times but here is a AWB thread that I thought you might like to see , just to see what other people are thinking about it. One thing that pissed me off is this guy S.I.N here some of the crap he posted.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
''http://news.yahoo.com/fc?tmpl=fc&ci..._Control_Debate

I am sure most will end up in a hunters or collectors rack display and not in the streets. I believe one should be able to have a gun to protect themselfs or family if needed but not a damn Uzi or AK47 able to take down a city block full of people with no effort. It serves no purpose because most are fully aware where they will end up or most of them will and thats in the low income neighbor hoods, drug dealers and gun runners hands. Civilians should not have this type of fire power unless there Scarface and expecting the drug lord they pissed off to storm there mansion with 200 men. This is not some third world country where there is a hostile environment that calls for such firepower.''
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and this is what made me mad

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
''Vampire it's not naive its reality atleast here in the US. The UK is very different than America on alot of things guns included. I am a soldier and a cop (not at the moment) so I have a good sence and view of NYC streets. In the US there are close to 20,000 homicides each year and almost every year 60% or more is by a gun and its rising. I remember watching a special where it said the Uk has like less than 100 deaths by guns each year japan even less and almost fell over in shock. In the streets we have picked up every type of fun imaginable even the ones banned converted but those which are banned are less frequent but with the ban lifted we will see alot more I think. Most of the guns are untraceable with there markings removed by someone who is not a common criminal but most likely a dealer and we damn well know this but cant do nothing. Also alot of these guns we get from people are from the middle to the lower class who are not collectors.

And your very naive to think somebody would not buy a AK just to sell it to a criminal when they can make a $200 profit easily. You should see the number of guns that originate from manufactors and dealers that are claimed stolen or something else we cant proveend or end up in the Caribbean which then makes a round trip back to Florida. In the south you can pick up a box of mini guns with no trouble and go sell them all over with ease because you didnt have to provide extensive paper work. Learn the facts buddy.''

''
LOL if you only new. I have more first and knowledge than you will ever have unless you have been to war. And the kicker is that I am going back for more knowledge. Those gun converted is nothing hollywood.''

Guy is an asswipe.

1. AK-47's are select fire weapons and controled under NFA34.  The AWB does NOTHING in regards to ANY select fire weapon.

2. The AWB limited mags made after the cut off for non-military/LEO use to 10 rounds.  Older (standard cap) mags were perfectly OK (unless regulated by state law).

3.  The AWB addressed three (3) mostly superficial features of guns.  Adjustable stocks, flash hiders and bayonet lugs.  The guns produced after the AWB were identical to those produced before the ban with those three (3) execptions.  Those restrictions did NOTHING to change the basic function of the weapon.

Anything else that anyone says about the AWB that goes beyond that is an outright liar or simply misinformed (which given the torrent of BULLSHIT that has been spewed on the subject) is understandable.

I  think he's something like Rush used to call 'seminar callers'; he sounds like a seminar-poser poster...

These goofs just don't get it.  The type of weapons they are trying to say will proliferate are already on the street and are available through legal and not so legal venues...

I don't buy his numbers on the amount of homicides in this country and comparing the UK to the USA on numbers is like apples and oranges...

"No schmuckly, it's falling"  Is what I'd tell him.  And within the years that the WISQARS data is available for (1981-2000) it's fallen further than the non-firearm homicide numbers have.  -28.42%vs -27.90%.

Hmmmmmmmmmm more guns (there were definetly more guns in 2000 than there were in 1981) yet fewer homicides.  Go figure!
