Where the fuck were these guys a year ago? Or five years? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they dropped the ball, but if I had some pet legislation that had a built-in killswitch, I sure as hell wouldn't wait until the 11th hour to renew it. An extension/permanent ban would have passed in a heartbeat on Clinton's watch.

Hmmmm, look at all the editorials and other recent opinion pieces from major newspapers... then we find out CNN, ABC and who else is going to do a major piece on the sunset the day before Brady has announced they are going to try a call-in last-ditch effort to lean on the President? |

It's an attempt to put the Republicans (and GWB in particular) in a bad light, nothing more. At this point, the leftist media isn't so much concerned about gun control as it is about putting more leftists in office. The gun control can come later. |

Wouldn't count on that. The sunsetting version just barely passed the Democrat controlled House under Clinton's watch, and they came close to passing a bill to repeal it after the Republicans took the House. |
