...or better yet...imagine you are a juror.

You are a juror on a case where a Plaintiff is suing a beer company (bottling company, etc) because he found a nearly hatched Robin in a beer he was drinking. While drinking the beer he ingested some gritty particles and the beer tasted horrible. On inspection, the Plaintiff finds bits of blue shell, a small amount of yolk and what looks like a partially formed baby bird. I know it's hard to be serious but, seriously, if you were a juror and the Plaintiff asked you to award him compensation what do you think is fair in this sort of situation? Please assume for the sake of argument that the event did in fact take place as described and leave the "he put the dead bird in the bottle a la strange brew" remarks at home. Thanks!

On a similar note...what if you bit into a thumbtack in your pizza at the pizza hut and broke your tooth? Worth more or less than the dead baby bird? Obviously there is more physical injury because you have a cracked tooth....on the other hand, I'd rather bite a thumbtack than drink a beer with a dead bird and egg in it. What say you?

hmm, this needs a poll

Big deal- people eat eggs all the time.  unhatched baby birds are considered a treat in some oriental / sorry, I mean Asian cultures.   Saw it on fear factor, so it must be true.

hey hey...now I already pre-empted the Strange brew stuff guys!

Free beer for life...hmmm might not be so bad....on the other hand...if I found a nearly hatched baby bird along with what's left of its egg in my beer, I would promptly switch beers. This guy, I think, has switched to clear liquors only...for obvious reasons.

How about a tack in your pizza?

They wouldn't let me hear that case. I used to repair equipment in a large food processing plant.

How are you going to get a robins egg into a beer bottle anyway?

I have no plans to put an egg in a bottle. I can't imagine how it got there... I do have some pics, however of what was inside. If someone offers to host and IMs an email, I'll scan them and send them for posting.

I'm not the sue happy type so I'd say cover medical bills and a coupon for free beer for a year.

A modest sum to buy the beer of his choice?

mmmmmm crunchy beer.  What's the big deal?  Beer is anticeptic, no germs in beer.  Same for coffee.

Tack: Worth more than baby bird.  Person could have swallowed it and had even worse problems.  "I don't know what's wrong w/ me doc, it feels like I'm shitting thumbtacks."  They should pay for dental fees, free pizza for life, and a modest sum for being idiots.

So like, we were at a party eh, and we were drinking your beer, and there was a MOUSE in one.  And our friend, a COP, drank some, and uh, HE PUKED!  And he said, uh, that you should give us free beer, or he'll press charges, eh?

I know the tack did more actual physical damage but man....you gotta see this nasty partially formed bird covered in yolk and bits of shell. I think if I found it in my beer, I'd be sober as the pope for a long time.

I'd ask for $10 to buy a 6 pack of a competitor's product and nothing more (unless I got super, gotta-go-to-the-hospital sick from it, then I'd ask they pay medical bills).
