I have heard some rather impressive claims that clinical research shows that in excess of 40% of the female population can be classified as bisexual, that females are 13 times as likely as males to have a sexual experience with members of thier own sex and that due to cultural changes both of these statistics are rapidly increasing.

I'm tempted to call BS... but I'd like to see the facts.

I've read the studies and as much as I hate people who throw in stats without any backup when they argue their point, in this case a pro-gay standpoint, it is correct.

Numerous studies have indicated that women are more likely to be bisexual and the 40% mark above is right on par with what I've read.

I'd say thats accurate or maybe a little high given my experience. The biggest difference today is so many more are acting on thier curiosities/desires.

Why? I think primarily the internet... seriously. Now they can look for and meet someone who is in the same boat without the embarassment of them not being interested when you approach them.

Don't belive me, just start reading they yahoo messenger profiles from women in your hometown.

Can't comment on the official study but all I know is that we had some friends in town this past weekend who wanted to see some of hte Tampa stripclubs so we're hanging out having a few drinks and pretty much out of the blue the Mrs wants me to buy her a dance from this really smokin girl of Philipino descent (tall, long brunette hair, nice C boobs, etc etc).

I ponied up the $20 and got one hell of an eyeful...the floor manager even came over to keep an eye on things and make sure it didn't get out of hand.

I say all this only to support the idea that most women are only about 3 stiff drinks away from a lesbian encounter...now where'd I put that camera?

I'd venture to say it closer to 60 or 70%. I've been amazed at the amount of women who have told me they either are bi or would like to try it. Then there are the "passive-bi" ladies. "You can do me but I won't do you" types. All you guys who fantasize about hitting your wife's best friend, hell, she might already be hitting it.

I don't know about the bi thing, but I can attest to the fact that 99% of women can't make up their minds about what they want.

So maybe 40% bi isn't that much of a stretch.

And, why in the hell do they feel the need to come out and tell you about it? That's messed up, IMHO.

Ditto. In all the years my wife did marriage counseling and in all the years I've had women ask me for relationship advice, I've never heard of one who was. I can't believe the 40% rate is true around here.

False.

Before you can accept that number, you have to look at the questions asked. If the survey said something like "Do you think that Charlize Theron is beautiful", then a great many hetero females will say yes. This only means that they believe CT measures up to a standard of beauty. But often in studies answers to questions like this "prove" someone is homosexual.

Now if the question was "Do you wanna lick some carpet" and 40% said yes, then the survey was probably given in San Fransisco....
