As I understand things, the 3800 drivetrain is excellent.  YMMV with the interior quality and lifespan...

USAA rates them very highly

good crash protection, good repair records, not much of a theft target

Park Ave's are a poor man's Mercedes, IMO. Damn good cars.

Great car.  Depending upon the year they sometimes have an intake manifold gasket (?) problem.  If you got a good one you might get close to 30 mpg on the highway.  I'd like to get a Park Ave when my LeSabre dies, but my guess is the LeSabre will still be running 10 years from now.  The door lock acctuators and power window motors can eventually fail but they are fairly easy to fix yourself.

Excellent family sedan for grownups. Kids need not apply.

I got 11 years and 255,000+ miles out of my 1987.  It was still running when I got rid of it in 1997.

What year?  I was a service adviser at a Buick dealership back in '89-'90.  I do know that many of the LeSabres and Park Avenues were being towed in on a regular basis due to crank sensors going bad.

If I collected cars like guns, I would have the two below.... 1969 (in Black) & 1975 (in Blue).

Two of the sexiest, sweetest machines ever out of Detroit.

You would need a 71 Riveria to go with those 2.

I have last year's Regal and love the damn thing... it doesn't hurt that it has a blower.

Dependable and comfortable.
The Regal has had the highest consumer satisfaction rating for the last couple years. The Park Avenue is damn near the same car, just a bit bigger and more toys.
