If its' head is triangular in shape or if'n it's gots a rattle it's a viper, that's all I know about snakes man.... Sorry about the non-help in this area dude.
I thought a copperhead, but the marks are all wrong for around here. They all taste good though. Bon appetit!
Bingo, kill it, then run your weedeater around your property, just on the off chance of cute little copperhead babies running around. |
Seriously? That mofo is dead! Be back in a minute! |
Hard to tell without a good look at the head.
Looks a little like a water snake in the cottonmouth family, but a bit too brown (although the markings are real close) If it has a triangle shaped head and segmented eyes, its a viper. EDITED TO SAY: We want before and AFTER pics |
It's a rat snake so leave it alone.
Not a Copperhead or Cottonmouth. HS1 |
Little too late dude!!! |
I was gonna say Corn Snake...And it might be a Bull Snake.... but I cant see the head. It's probably harmless. |
Well, if it was harmless, I feel kind of bad. I do not kill for pleasure or anything. In fact, this is the first living thing I have ever shot with a firearm. However, with three kittens, two cats, a small dog, and a three month old baby in the house, I didn't want to take any chances. |

Corn snake (rat snake)
www.kingsnake.com/ratsnake/corn.htm |
Uh, neither of the snakes at that link look like mine. Do corn snakes have a wide variety of scale patterns? |
Harmless snake. I understand your wanting to protect the family, pets, and all, but you killed a benefical snake.
My rant: Every time I see something like this on the forum, I think about the hunter that shoots into the bushes because he thinks there is a deer in them. I happen to love snakes, (not many poisonous ones here in the states) so please learn to identify the poisonous ones, and leave the rest alone. |
Red rat snake or Corn snake... harmless and actually will keep other unwanted vectors out of the AO -- Make a note of those that called it a Copperhead and NEVER go hikng with them ;)
I don't care what kind of snake it is. Right now it's the best kind of snake there is.
What's that accessory on your P22? - laser? - I like the look of it - And if you could share where to get it - Thanks in advance
if it slithers it fucking dies, period.
just last week i killed a baby rattlesnake with the weedeater...................two years ago one bit my grandmother. found one before that in my water heater closet. they're not my friends......................................... |
you have got to be shitting me! wtf do you live? middle of town somewhere? |
Yes, they vary greatly in color, and pattern. There are red ones, albino, black, stripped, ect. |
Negative, I just don't hunt. I don't kill for fun, either. I have no problem with hunting or killing for food, I just don't do it myself. Nor am I a tree-hugging PETA type, either. As for the laser on my P-22, I picked it up at a local shop for $80, and it is manufactured by Walther, so I would imagine it would be on their website. I like it because it is a flush fit, with no rattle, like most other light/laser accessories. Also, by the way, I am not afraid of snakes. I came so close to stepping on this one, though, that I had to jump over it to keep from falling. Spiders are a different story, of course. |
Is that Walthers expensive laser add-on? Where and how much did you get it?
Edit: Ya beat me by a minute, I'll have to check that out. |
Corn snakes can vary greatly in color and markings, Copperheads are banded and thick in the body...
See the last post on PG 1. |
At least skin it out and make a hat band or something so it's life wasn't taken in vein.
you just killed a snake classified as Elaphe Guttata Guttata..
it likes to eat copperheads... totally harmless and makes a great pet |
Even better, I may just put it in some broad's bed. Womenz love snakes! |
Oops. Buy it'll make a great change holder! |
most definately NOT a copperhead. I know, about a month ago we killed 7 of them in one day at work. There are lots of them in WV.
That looks like a corn snake to me. |
Damn! Dude! You killed a good snake. I am calling PETA. Your gonna burn in hell for that.
HELL NO. You guys are going to let him off this easy. When I killed a snake and posted pics....it was like 3 pages of what a shithead, dirtbag, fuck face, animal abusing, killing for pleasure, rat loving, POS I am/was!
NOW, you pita snake loving types get to rippin and shreadin this snake killer before I get a complex. |
Hehehe! I just lurked around at kingsnake.com and found this: gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.pl?photo=74629 See post #2.
They get upset over killing poisonous snakes. |
Looks like a bull snake. I used to catch them for pets when I was growing up. Once they get used to you, they're pretty tame.
Catch live mice and feed them every couple of weeks. Too bad for that one. They keep the rodents down. I could use a few around my house. |
WOOOOHOOOOOOO...........thats what Im talking about. |
Hooray for animosity! Sounds to me like someone needs to attend the Death Camp of Tolerance. |
This is a bad case of Blue on Blue. You just shot something that was on your side.
My cousin lost a big hunk of meat on his leg to a bull snake bite... Those fuckers carry eleventy billion different kinds of disease. Plus it can be damn difficult to tell a rat snake from a copperhead or bulls from diamondbacks.
If it bothers you that he killed it (humanely I might add). I suggest you IM me your email addie and I will paypal you 50 cents so you can buy a clue. Sheesh! Some people! His kid probably plays in that yard |
That snake he just killed eats mice, rats and other "vermin". Let's see how well your cousin fares after getting bit by a rat. |
Psst! My guess is that he can take care of his own rats... You can act like you knew that yourself if ya want. I won't tell. ETA: You can play like bulls and corn snakes aren't aggressive toward humans… (like his kid) I won't let that cat out of the bag either. |
