U.S. President George W. Bush's Hispanic nephew, George P. Bush Saturday, accepted criticism of some U.S. policies during a campaign trip to Mexico, calling the arming of Border Patrol agents with plastic pellet guns "reprehensible."
The younger Bush, son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, told a news conference Saturday that his uncle, if re-elected, would turn the focus of foreign policy "back to this hemisphere."
"If there has been American approval for this policy, that is reprehensible," Bush said of the guns, essentially paintball projectiles filled with chile powder. "It's kind of barbarous."
Speaking in sometimes halting Spanish mixed with English, he said his uncle was not blame for the gun policy, which has angered Mexicans; instead, he blamed it on "some local INS (Immigration) guy who's trying to be tough, act macho."
The use of the guns is in fact federal policy, and they are in use in several states.
George P. Bush, whose mother was born in Mexico, came here to drum up support among Americans abroad for his uncle...
More pandering to Mexican illegals by the Bush campaign. Yes, Jorge...defending yourself from rock throwing criminals is "trying to be tough", acting "macho." How many votes is GWB gonna lose from pissed off border patrol agents who read Jorge Bush's bullshit statement?
