I agree. I mean, I know that it's an election year, and I realize that this campaign had become dirtier than ever, and I know that this may be the most important election in our history due to the 2 completely different approaches to dealin with the Islamic terrorists bent on our complete destruction...
But can't we just talk about something else? How is the US looking in the 100 meter synchronized butterfly stroke relay?

Just in case you haven't noticed, it's about two months untill a presidential election that is being held during wartime. The two main choices are 180 degrees from each other in their ideas on how to fight this war. The incumbent is running on a successful record with a few flaws and the challenger is running on a very questionable war record from 30+ years ago.
Maybe you should find a non political site to surf instead of trying to change this one? |

I butterflied some pork chops Friday. I was gonna butterfly a leg of lamb Saturday, but it looked like a real pain so I roasted it whole. I deglazed the pan with merlot and made a truly noteworthy gravy. I am an American.

Without politics, religion, science, and guns, we are reduced to sex, sports and weather. I really don't want to discuss sex, and here in Tucson AZ, the weather is hot and sunny (again) and in sports, the Cardinals suck (again).

OMG!! You heard about it too!?!? I was wearing my tinfiol hat and actually picked up the secret government transmissions and heard "them" talking about it. People need to lighten up, but yes I'm getting tired about the political talk everywhere. Although to add, most people I talk to at least 4 out of 5 are not liking Bush but are voting for him over Scary Kerry. |

I hate politics with a passion. But the simple fact is, we are in a serious fight right now. We have all sorts of issues and the world is a troubled place. And we have a very anti-gun fella who has a chance at becoming president.
With that said, I can't not talk about it. Besides, if we ever get a gun grabbing gang of these liberals in power (both executive and legislative control), then we might not have any guns to talk about then. So I would rather take up some space with political threads here now than to have lots of open space later when we no longer have any gun related subjects to discuss. |

If the thread is about politics or the expiration of the ban, or the legacy of Lincoln or anything else that you don't want to hear about, DON'T OPEN THE THREAD. You are not mandated to read and/or reply to every one.

I think most of the political pundits on this board need to get out of the house & go shooting. Or get laid. Or do something. ANYTHING.
It does get a little tedious. Nobody here is going to change their mind, and even those of use that despise Bush are most likely going to vote for him anyway, simply because he's the (marginally) lesser of two evils, and it really is a two candidate race. At the end of the day none of the bullshit on here really matters. Mostly what you wind up with is people that are extremely frustraed with politics that come to a board where they think everyone is going to think like them. They are often disturbed to find that potheads, homosexuals, atheists, anarchists, immigrants, racists, and all manner of other social miscreants also own guns. |

I think we should have a pissing and moaning contest-similar to TexRedNeck's post about NASCAR-only about football.
Best, worst, college, pro. I think we'll get a lot of similar comments. I'll start. I don't care much at all for pro football. WAY overpaid bunch of ME ME ME thugs that frankly, embarass me as an American. College football is WAY better than pro. Not a bunch of fucking jerks dancing, prancing and shooting their fool mouths off. Besides, the Rams and Chiefs BOTH contributed to anti CCW efforts in Missouri. And I've been watching a lot of rugby lately and they play JUST AS ROUGH with NO PADDING except for cloth & foam helmets and they play CONTINUOUSLY, without stopping every 30 seconds. And they play a longer game (80 minutes). Grab a stopwatch sometime and time the in motion, in play amount in a pro game. In a 60 minute game they ACTUALLY PLAY about 18-20 minutes. The rest of the time is basically standing or walking around. Flame away. |

As a matter of FACT the incumbent has NO WAR Record. IIRC his father was the director of the CIA at the time GW was in. Wouldn't that make GW inelligible to go into a combat zone because of the threat against national security should he be captured? Just a thought. |
