Well? How much do you pay? I've been thinking about joining a gun club because it's just hard to find a good place to shoot farther than 100yards. One one I've been looking at is very nice. After a one time membership fee it is only $20 per month. Do most of the people here belong to a club? |
$185.00/year. $20.00 deposit for an access key. For somewhere around 1040 hours a year, this is cheap entertainment. ETA: I do have my own range but this is one I do try to promote for the firearms community. |
Mine costs fifteen dollars a year.
I've been trying to get them to raise it for several years, to provide enough funds to have more than a gate and a berm. They keep saying that if they raise it to twenty dollars a year, they will lose members. Most of the members are cheap bastards, it would seem. The upside is, there are very few rules. |
Not me. There are plenty of places I can shoot for free, and a couple by-the-hour places, so I see no need to pay for days I'm not shooting.
$25/year. Simple but pleasent and never crowded...unless the arfcommers are there
$70 a year for a private club with covered ranges at 50, 100, and 200 yards, plus archery range and a trap range.

It's $125.00 a year for a range that has a couple of 200 yard ranges, a 50 yard range and a 600 yard range as well as an indoor pistol range. I don't belong as my brother owns 40 acres outside of town, plus a friend owns 300 acres 45 minutes from my place.
Around $12 a month.... pistol & rifle ranges ( new 600 yd. rifle range ) trap, skeet, sporting clays, action pistol, cowboy action, etc... they only allow full-auto at organized shoots and unfortunately for me they don't allow .50 BMG rifles.
$175 per year for the range at the NRA headquarters here in Virginia.
Unfortunately, it’s only 50 yards. However, it’s indoors and allows rifles. Also, no one fusses about rapid fire, number of rounds in the magazine, drawing from a holster or such (though full auto is prohibited, as is black powder) I go maybe once a week, so it averages a bit over $3 a visit. I just wish I could get off so easily with my ammo costs per visit!! |

Tucson Rifle Club: $40/year, family
$50 a year. I'm trying to talk them into raising the rates though.
Life Member = zero $ per year. One of the few good deals I was smart enough to take advantage of.
Owl hollow right? I go there too :) |

We have several shooting ranges that you can use for free here in Mo. also have friends and family that own land that we can hunt and shoot on, never gave much thought about people having to pay to use a shooting range, what do you guys get at these ranges for the fees you pay,Do you get free targets, or what ???
I had an "accident" where some ammo exploded on the bench in front of me and I ended up with shrapnel in my arm. The gun range gave me a free lifetime family membership. Very nice, and I figure it was to make me not want to sue them or something, but really I blame nobody for what happened. But, it was a nice gesture.
It's $130 the first year with $100 of that used for upgrade and new land to shoot on. After that it's only $30/year. It's very hard to find a place to shoot in my area due to all the new homes being built.
$40 a year. Must be a member of two pro-gun lobbying organizations (NRA/GOAL, for example).
Two enclosed, heated shooting houses from which we shoot at targets outside. Pistol range has 10', 25', and 50' targets. Rifle range has 50 yd, 75, yd, 100 yd., 150 yd. and 200 yd. ranges. Full auto allowed, pistol cal. only, 3 rd. bursts. Trap range closed at this time due to state's Lead Shot Initiative (we are in wetlands) All rifles and shotguns w/slugs allowed on rifle ranges. No hassle about semi-autos, just shoot from the shoulder (only rule) Locked gate with comb. for members and local police only. Police shoot down here next to everybody else, no problems. No bar, no clubhouse- policy is: guns and alcohol do not mix. Good place, good people. |
$ 0
It's 5 bucks each day you go to shoot at the local range north of Phoenix. Or totaly free if you drive another 5 miles out into the desert. |
I own property that I can shoot own whenever I want, but still belong to a club. Here is one point to consider. A lot of areas in VA used to be the same way. Now that there is a lot of urban sprawl, there are portions of the state where you can't just shoot out in the yard. The few clubs that are in these areas have high fees and long waiting lists. I look at my club membership as having one leg in the door. |

$97.50 a year. Never have to pay another penny unless I need more than two targets per visit. Plus, when the 100yd rifle range is empty, I can work on transition drills, bounce bullets off the berm, etc. Can also set up barricades, barrels, etc on the pistol range. Good folks there! |
200 a yr,....
all the mud you can handle when it rains,,,, no rules, with spots out to 400 yds.. the first yr I got it,I had to talk myself into it due to the cost...... now I would not be able to handle a "real" range... <wait I take back the NO rules line...... you cant fire at the tress...... sure bring your own washing mach, TV or propane tank.. but leave the trees alone...> |
$20/yr for the 100 yard range 45 minutes from my parents' house (my brother and cousin are constant shooting companions, I go home about every other weekend to hang out and decompress from work).
$50/yr for the 100 yard range about 45 minutes from my apartment. This one is nicer, smaller trap range (one station with supplied thrower instead of an open field), but it has seperate pistol and rifle ranges. I'm happy with the prices I pay for each, I think I get my money's worth, both are state owned (Maryland), so I'm glad to be a thorn in the anti's sides. Kharn |

Private club. pistol range skeet/trap indoor .22 range fishin' hole 200 yard range WITH PITS!!!!!!! AND a GREAT CMP program. the pits make it a deal at twice the price. |

I shoot mostly at a State owned public range, but I belong to a club that maintains the range. Cost $15 for the privalege of cleaning up other peoples trash and cutting grass. Up side is that whenever we schedule an event the range belongs to us. In essence we have a 200 yard covered range with ten benches on concrete plus a covered pistol range. Not a bad deal.
