one of my .22's that is not in any of the pics is my browing, and i like it a lot because of the really short action of the lever. I don't even have to remove my hand from the stock to work the action.

The lever action at the top is my father's, and it is actually a .22 mag.

the one with the 16 inch barrel and wrangler loop, is a .44 mag.

The one on the bottom is a pre-64 in 30-30

all are winchester.

The one in the rifle has DSL, Sanchez ent, marked in the bottom, the other has no markings, except the sticker that was on it said England.

troy, when you are in the Montana Rockies, you had better have synthetic, unless you want your gun to look like stick afterwards.

.44 mag. It is actually shorter than my *recent* SAR 1. That is the dedicated truck gun, and i use as a back up gun for hunting bears.

You're talkin' to the guy with synthetic stocks on his .30-30!  Wood is great for shelves and doors, but I like my guns to be able to take a beatin' and still work.

-Troy

Hmm. You may have a point.

But i still like wood.

I synthetic on my winchester model 70 .300 wsm, (elk gun), and wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't think you can beat wood on lever actions though.

ETA: for functionality, synthetic is key.

BTW, nice collection.  I was just messin' with ya.  I would be afraid to take an expensively carved stock to the field.  I'd be more worried about scratching it up than about looking for game.

-Troy

I here ya there, We took the RMEF rifle out twice, once for my father to kill an elk with, once for me to kill an elk with.

Long story short, dad had to rest it on some rocks for his shot, and put what i like to call a battle wound in it. nothing big, just a little scratch.
BTW, that gun is 2 for 2, 2 elk, 2 bullets.
