+1 on the Super Snipers

I had a much older Super Sniper and it was a great scope. No problems at all.
The $650 Springfield Armory scope on the other hand...  If I scope the PTR-91 I'm getting, it will be with a Super Sniper. |

You may want to take a look at the Bushnell Elite 3200 (10x40) scope. (Less than $200!)
I don't own one, but it's on my short list for my future long range stick build and I've heard a lot of good things about it. |

You may be thinking of the Elite 4200... newer and much better from what I hear. Around $350 in most places. |

I had one of those Bushnells for awhile, good scope just didn't like the fixed 10x. Other than that it seemed okay, though I am no scope expert.
I got a Leupold 3-9 with mil dots and target turrets for about $ 450, but that's a lot more money than the Bushnell. Unfortunately I sold the Bushnell so I could not comparethem side by side. I do remember the Bushnell having a shorter eye relief I think, but the exposed target turrets were easier to use, no taking the cap on and off and maybe losing it. I have only used a Super Sniper a few times on someone else's rifle. My Springfield 6x broke, though it was later repaired under warranty. The reticle is pretty fine. Someone says you can get them somewhere for $ 140 on close out. They do have markings for bullet drop and range finding, but I think the Bushnell would be a better choice |

I have a SS on a PSS DM in .300 WM. It holds zero, and I thought it was pretty clear. That is, until I looked through a Leupold, now that was clarity.
Seriously, the SS is pretty good, but not the best. |
