I have been working on the campus of OU all week, so I have seen my share of whiney, liberal, asshats in the last three days.

I have to wonder why these tolerant, diversity-loving, peacenicks would love to poke Bush's eyes out and set him on fire. The hatred is almost unbelievable. I mean, I hated Clinton, but I never wanted to put his head on a pike and parade down the street.

My question is, what has GWB really done to garner such hatred? What specific things make him "the worst President this country has ever seen"??

Other Presidents have taken us to war. Other Presidents have "stolen" elections. Other Presidents have given favors in office. Just what is it about GWB that gets these people's panties in such a wad????

There isn't anything wrong with GWB. Unfortunately, we have quite a few seriously fucked up people in this country (see Kerry supporters) who do have issues. I am yet to determine if they are just stupid or full blown commies. Either way, they aren't on our side. It's a good thing I don't attend OU, otherwise there would be lots of that propaganda shit being torn to bits and scattered across the campus.

BUSH LIED!!!

He lied about Iraq having WMD when the whole world including the previous administration believed Saddam did have WMD.

- Russian intelligence believed he had WMD.
- Israeli intelligence believed he had WMD.
- British intelligence believed he had WMD.
- The CIA believed he had WMD.
- The UN believed he had WMD.
- Clinton is on record stating that Iraq had WMD.
- Albright is on record stating that Iraq had WMD.
- Gore is on record stating that Iraq had WMD.

Yet for some reason the liberals ignore all that and continue to say, BUSH LIED!!!

Go figure.

You ever had an argument with a liberal.  We aren't dealing with mature people.  Every conversation I've ever had with a liberal ended in them calling me a name.  I consider this the verbal equivalent of running out of bullets and them throwing the gun at me.  It's pure emotion vs logic.  The only positive thing about hate is that it consumes the hater.

I'll tell you why as someone who is not a conservative, and when I was in school even probably left of center.  College students don't know how the world works yet, and unfortunately, acedemic types try and install their personal visions of utopia.  My experience with humanities professors was that they feel that their 'utopia' can be instantiated through government and social policy.  This is compounded by the fact that they are often 'experts' in a very narrow field of expertise, but don't know it.  For example, I had a geography (yes, in college) professor who spent 4 out of 5 class days talking about global warming.  This was the late 80s, and we had been in a series of record breaking summers, which she used as attention getters...  Bottom line, her politics took priority over the material, and the class loved it because it was an easy A.

IMO, here are the lefts top 3 complaints about Bush?

1) He is seen as a regressive force in the march toward '3rd way' socalisim.  Clinton was seen as the man for aligning us with the Western European/Canadian model, a model that the left adores.
2) His perception among elites is that he is a common man elected by the common man.  Only members of the ruling class (specifically JFK School of Government types) should be elected.  Their opinion is that the democratic voting process is only really valid when 'right thinking' people get elected.  Bush gets in, and they say, look what the 'rednecks' did...
3) He lacks the artifical compassion of most national level politicans.  He makes no effort to placate his enemies or even those with opposing beliefs.

churchill said "if your not a progressive by the time youre 18, you have no heart, and if your not a conservative by the time your 30, you have no brain."

that about sums it up for the kids and profs. i was in college 3 years and never had an open minded prof. all were extremely liberal, and always right. thats how they teach too, even history.

Looks like some people have very poor memories....The media included. They
are not challenging this double talk.

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
- Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"We urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
- Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin (D-MI), Tom Daschle (D-SD), John Kerry ( D - MA), and others Oct. 9, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
- Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, December 5, 2001

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force-- if necessary-- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do."
- Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapon stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime .. He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation .. And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

I actually saw statistics on this somewhere, can't remember where, but the statistics show that you are correct only to the BA level.

The majority of the BA level graduates tend to lean to the left.
While the majority of MA and PhD graduates start leaning to the right.

So given those statistics I figured:
4 year college graduates are given just enough "knowledge" to know there's a problem, but not enough knowledge about ways to fix it.

That and I discovered that the majority of college professors (must be that minority of MA and PhDs) lean to the left. Ignorant students fresh out of high school are influenced by the people they consider to be "role models" and so naturally follow the tendancy to lean to the left.

As my own addition:
You have to realize that the majority of today's youth has grown up with everything handed to them. Their concept of "freedom" is "mommy and daddy pay for me to do whatever I want." They are REALLY out of touch with the fact that freedom has responsibilities too. They have been given that "safety net" to fall back on (.gov) for so long that they simply can't fathom doing without some form of hand out from Big Brother. Also, understand that these "kids" happen to be very vocal. So naturally we hear more about it. Thanks to our liberal media, stories about fellow socialists is all you're going to see while true patriots are looked down upon and labled as terrorists, nut cases, gun toting rednecks or whatever "clever" name they can think up this week.

In short, there's nothing really wrong with Bush other than he isn't one of "them."

No need to rag on college students- at A&M there is a majority conservative body.  However, the liberals are the first and loudest to whine.  Liberals control much of the media processed by the US daily and the problems is seemingly larger than it really is.  A&M will not whine about the liberals but when the time comes to vote, my school and the majority of Texas votes conservative.  This election will not be close and the last election was whined about for a long time.  Shady dealings go on when you deal with dedicated liberals.  Any American with half a brain is moderate, but they vote conservative because you have to choose one side...

Ahhhhh. Here is the exact thing I am talking about. From cyanide no less. These vague lies about this and that. Be more specific.  The WMD is a wash. Sure he said but so everybody else, it's a fact. Who's head is in the clouds?

Clinton outright lied. I watched him on TV. I saw it. He lied. "I did not have sexual relations with woman, Monica Lewinsky." I still can't believe it, it was so obvious.

I am not saying Bush is the great white savior. I just want to know why there is so much anger.

I think DriftPunch has summed it up best so far.

3) He lacks the artifical compassion of most national level politicans. He makes no effort to placate his enemies or even those with opposing beliefs.

These are also the same reasons that make me  like GWB.
