After a month of explaining to my wife about how I need a new truck she finally gave in. The incentives that are out right now are outstanding and I feel that I got a really good deal. I traded in my 1999 2x4 XLT supercab for this 2004 FX4. I cannot believe the difference in this truck compared to my old one. The tires are going to have to go but that will have to be added to the wish list!

There, I think that I fixed it. The incentives are really good right now. I just saw a commercial during the olympics that stated $5,000 cash back.

Thats what I got for the Explorer, plus my friend works for Ford. So the sticker was $43,400.00, he bought that down to the "family sale price" of $36,400.00 minus $5000.00 rebate = 31,400.00, plus 1.7% finance  .

I wish that I had a friend in the business but I really enjoy the "sport" of buying a new vehicle. After a little work and shopping around I ended up getting $8,500 off of the sticker. Most of my efforts were put into getting the max for my trade in. The dealership that I bought from ended up giving me everything that I wanted so I'm happy but you always wonder if you could have gotten just a little bit more! I hope that you are enjoying your Explorer, That's what I wanted my wife to get but she wanted a car.
