I was wondering what people on this forum use as their carry weapon (for those who are allowed).  I go to the range once in a while with my dad and brother, and I've only shot a Glock 19.  I love it, but I think I'd like to experiment with others and see what else I like.  Suggestions?

I used to try to carry a small gun in the summer time, a small revolver or automatic.  But now I find I can carry a full sized gun, even with shorts and a t-shirt if I use an inside the pants holster and no one can tell.

So I'm packing a Glock 22 EVERYWHERE I go.

The trick to decent carry is a decent belt. When the belt supports the holster, you can conceal anything.

1911 "in the field" sometimes a K frame 38 "in the field" (open carry). Mod. 60 J-frame .357 or Makarov concealed.

But it's just to cover my ass until I get to the shotgun, SKS, and/or AR in the truck.

I've got a Sig P245.  I love the thing and can put a quarter over the grouping at about 10-15 yards.  I've also got a H&K USP 9mm but it's been collecting dust ever since I got my hands on the Sig.

Spent many $$$ to find that I shoot and carry a Glock30 extremely well.I still have several great gun in arsenal(HK USP compact.45,ParaOrdnanceP13.45,Colt Python, and more) but the glock just fits me right and never lets me down.

Colt M1991A1SS usually in a pancake holster (until I can find a decent left-handed SOB rig that won't break me...)

At 6'3" and 240#, I can make the 91 disappear just about anywhere convenient.  And, once I throw on a light jacket or an open shirt, no-one is the wiser...  The BIG trick to concealment is to get used to the weight and pull of the hardware.  Most people that get busted off the street for CCW got nailed for adjusting their jock where they keep their .38...

Here in Illinois there is no such thing as a CCW. If there was (fingers crossed) and I had one, I'd be packing my Sig p220 in .45 auto.

Glock 36 in one of several IWB holsters.  It's the perfect mix of big caliber in a small gun package.  Accurate as hell, too.  But you already have a black pistol, so I don't have to tell you that.

I carry the gun I shoot the most accurately with, the one that points the most naturally for me, a full size 1911.
Your best bet is to find out which gun meets those requirements for you and make an effort to carry it, no matter what the size.

Glock 19 in either a Galco Royal Guard IWB or the Galco Concealable pancake.  Sometimes a Kimber Compact in same model holsters.  These are two of the best holsters out there IMHO.

Astra A-100 loaded w/ 9 mm +P+ in a custom made Kydex IWB holster.(made it myself!) Thats the small one I carry. For other times its my Springfield Defender 1911 .45 in a Dillon CYA. Great rig for carrying a 1911. And yes, a good holster is needed, but the belt is extremely important. Been through a lot of belts. Thats the key component as to how well your rig works.

I normally carry a Springfield TRP 1911 .45 in a Kramer IWB holster, my wife carries a Sig Pro 2340 in .40 in her purse, when in just shorts and tank top I carry a Colt Pony in 380 in a belly band rig. I'm thinking of getting a Glock 36 for shorts duty though as I'm not real confident of the .380 caliber for stopping power.

Glock 23NS with 3 hi-caps (pre-ban) for a total of 40 rounds of 180gr Federal Hydra-Shock. I don't always carry the spare magazines, though. If I can't solve the problem with the first 14 rounds, I probably do not have a handgun problem....

Glock 27 with Trijicon night sights in an inside the waste band holster.  I have several other pistols including a Colt 1911 and a larger Glock, but I find that with a smaller pistol I am less prone to find an excuse to leave it home.  I have also discovered that barrel length is not nearly as import to concealability as butt length.

I carry a 96FS Beretta it has been an excellent autopistol. I have been working with a fullsize 1911 Springfield Armory and It is proving to be reliable, accurate and very quick. I live in a cool climate and I'm fairly tall so concealment is not problem.

On duty I carry a Glock model 21, and I love it.  It is the most comfortable fighting gun I have.  Off duty I carry my second favorite gun, a Kimber Classic Custom, in a Galco concealment pancake holster.  It is a smooth shooting little gun and I love it too.  Also shoot IDPA with it.  On SWAT duty I carry a Glock 17 to back up my MP5SD.
