I have one that replaces an old goose neck spot lamp that I've had since the 80s. It finally died. Not one of these monitor lights. It does a decent job of lighting my desk, although it lacks the power of the spot lamp.
I don't use it if I'm not doing something that has me not looking at the monitor, like painting a model or drawing or writing. I find if I have it on while watching the monitor, it's distracting. |

I have one of these attached to the hutch on my desk.
It's been there for 20 years. I think I paid ten bucks for it. Sometimes I have to replace the bulb. It's very adjustable. It's not portable, so there's that.  Attached File |
