Here in the lower-48, it is not quite that bad, but the cost of living especially in Democratic-controlled Kalifornia is pretty high, I paid $2 for a loaf of bread, whereas pre-pandemic I was only paying $1. I go to the local dollars store, I imagine that bread is probably higher in the unionized supermarkets.

And I rarely go out to eat because a Big Mac(btw I don't eat this, this is just for illustrative purposes) is like $8. But I do cook my own food, it doesn't quite taste as good as the restaurant food, but it is way healthier with lower salt and cheap fats. I can afford to put dried tomatoes on my pasta for example, in the commercial food places, they just use more salt and/or fat.

The only glue holding this shit sandwich together at this point is the amount of free loaders on the dole.

We would be at levels of violence, orders of magnitude greater than the summer of love otherwise.

It’s almost as if this is all orchestrated.

Even in a S. FL, walmart, a small loaf of bread is $3.50.     Wonder bread might be a little less than 2.

In Cali, a loaf of good bread is 7-8 bucks all the time.  Been that way for years.   I track that shit out of curiosity.

This is true.  IF you know how to cook.

Bread being 4-5 bucks a loaf at the store, I can make my own for about $2.30 a loaf of comparable size with much better quality.

The problem is most people dont know how to cook and are beholden to the big Ag or fast food machine.

Credit use is nearing an all time high, and savings are dropping.

Should be an indicator of how the middle class is handling it.

Don't be.

I'm spending about that much every other day in my work truck right now.

Pulling a trailer over 100 miles a day until we get this job done. Sucks big time.

Being a fat guy sucked until I convinced myself to get in gear and diet. I eat healthier which is a little more expensive but I also eat probably half or more than I used to so I’m saving money.

It’s the three kids that eat everything that is costing me a fuck load.

When I bought my house the septic pump was bad. It was I think around $230. It failed august 9th of this year and was $350. It was bad and the replacement 4 months and 6 days later was $418 but they did warranty exchange thankfully.

We did some serious debt reduction the past 2 years.  The only reason my savings isn't going up is I'm paying off debt fast.  Just the two of us, so we can live fairly cheap.  Didn't buy a house above our means.  Didn't buy expensive vehicles.  Don't take expensive vacations.  So, we're able to stay ahead of the inflation so far.  Mostly working from home saves fuel, too.

anyone who thinks prices will come down is pants on head retarded.  it's going to normalize with inflated wages

the fed said they wanted to inflate their way out of the debt crisis but i'm not smart enough in that area to know if that's what's actually unfolding or not.
